Just saw a commercial from the White House that featured Fauci and Blix. We must all suffer like the old people in quarantine was the message. Everyone has to be in quarantine. Why can we just quarantine old people? The rest of us can work and make sure old people are taken care of.

I just took a quick look at the death rate per age bracket. It certainly drops dramatically the younger you get but if only the elderly were quarantined, chances are with the amount that would get the virus because of how easily it spreads, the deaths would still be astronomical.
Makes no GD sense from an engineering point of view. The engineer in me is crying out not 'can we do this' but 'should we do this'.
I wish there was a way to separate the people who believe in social distancing from those who don’t and see how it all shakes out.
