Why can we just quarantine old people? The rest of us can work and make sure old people are taken care of.

I just took a quick look at the death rate per age bracket. It certainly drops dramatically the younger you get but if only the elderly were quarantined, chances are with the amount that would get the virus because of how easily it spreads, the deaths would still be astronomical.

I would think that the more younger people it can infect, it has a better chance to mutate into something that a younger person’s body can’t handle. It’s a numbers game. Reduce the number of mutations by reducing the number of people infected.
