A top medical executive at a Buffalo hospital was fired this weekend after demanding that supporters of President Donald Trump renounce ventilators if they become critically ill with coronavirus.
In a Facebook exchange, Laura Krolczyk, Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center's now former vice president for external affairs, wrote, "Trump supporters need to pledge to give up their ventilators for someone else ... and not go to the hospital."
Krolczyk also said Trump supporters should "barricade themselves" inside churches to ride out the coronavirus.
"Also don't cash your stimulus check. It's all a hoax. Chew some ibuprofen and be on with your day," Krolczyk wrote of Trump supporters.
Krolczyk was initially placed on administrative leave, but was later terminated over the comments, according to the Buffalo News.
Roswell Park released the following statement announcing Krolczyk's termination, WGRZ-TV reported:
This employee was terminated today [Saturday] after our Human Resources team concluded its investigation. We followed standard procedure, which required that we gather and verify relevant information before taking any disciplinary action.
Dr. Johnson and her team responded with swift and appropriate action. We have always been and continue to be a center serving everyone who needs us. That is core to our mission, our culture and the experience our patients and families can expect every day.
This behavior is not tolerated at Roswell Park. If any team members act in a way that does not accord with that commitment, we will take swift and appropriate action, just as we did in this instance. Krolczyk earned $226,580 in compensation in 2019, the Buffalo News reported.
Krolczyk previously worked for Hillary Clinton and Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.).
May they all get as good as they give.
Good.
Treated like a man who said this crap.
She lost her job. What a shame.
Crazy bytch!!
Would be nice if they find a way to avoid her receiving unemployment benefits.
Says it all, doesn't it?
I’m a little surprised that she was fired. Buffalo is in New York State, after all. (Hillary carried that county but not by an overwhelming margin—215K to 188K.) But I guess they don’t want Republicans to be afraid to use that hospital after this is over.
‘Personal Enlightenment’ requires some individual desire in that direction, as opposed to mere ego.
People like this are not up to that level of thought or spiritual inclination.
Just proves there are enough deranged Trump haters in this world that they would gladly arrange for a deadly virus to be let loose on this planet.
Or people willing to drop the Zyklon-B pellets into the showers.
I would.
She seems nice...
Sadly these people are a cesspool of hate and the have poisoned their minds with hate.hate is a strong repellent so they will now be alone.
These people are complete IDIOTS my God if I was earning 250 grand a year there would be NO social media in my life the stupidity is astounding!!!
Why would someone throw a $200,000+ year job away over politics? Wow.
Clintons family gives her advantage in New York primary campaign
Laura Krolczyk started working for Clinton in her Buffalo regional office in 2002 when she was just 22, and she headed the Western New York regional office for the senator until Clinton left to become secretary of state. Now married and with an 8-month old child, Krolyczyk has taken time off from her full-time job in leading a state government affairs unit at Roswell Park Cancer Institute to put miles on her car helping coordinate Clintons Western New York campaign. The work includes energizing supporters and coordinating with local party leaders. She got two hours of sleep in advance of organizing Clintons recent Buffalo campaign appearance.
Clintonland is family. There is no leaving. It was an honor to be asked to help. At the same time, we all knew this day was coming, Krolczyk said.
...Now, the New York team is hoping to help Clinton finish the story begun with that 2008 run with a White House victory this year, Krolczyk said.
