LATEST, March 24, 8:43 p.m. Los Angeles County health officials backtracked Tuesday on their announcement that a child died from coronavirus, saying its possible the death was caused by something else.

I did some brief research and came up with the following stats to enable folks to put the ChinaVirus in perspective. And the background noise behind this that can not be ignored is this: Those at greatest risk are either us old people or people with existing medical conditions - and all that that implies..
With that out of the way here you go:
Fun with removing zeros (three zeros removed from each number):
People on the planet: 7,700,000
Deaths from the virus: 20
Deaths from the Flu: annually 241-646
Deaths from automobile accidents: Annually, 1,350
Deaths from food poisoning: Annually, 420
Deaths from falling: Annually, 646
If proven, will they reopen the gun stores?
Oh geez the media made an error (sarc)
Just like my great uncle’s cause of death was tobacco use because he chewed snuff.
He passed at age 94.
Because, stats and funding.
LOL, good one!!

“This was and still is highlighted news on all of the mainstream media outlets.”
Cui bono?
because he died of sepsis? Which is not the coronavirus....but it can cause sepsis.
I like it. Removing the zeros helps to understand.
They say he died of septic shock. Was the septic shock caused by the Corona virus?
Either way, a tragedy.
But, we all know the media has been wringing their hands in anticipation of a pediatric death.
I hate these media bastards more and more as the days pass.
Strange article with little info.
Read that the death toll in Italy is being stuffed with deaths from other issues to keep the numbers high
I read that he had multiple health problems and they werent sure his death was caused by the virus. He was just tested and diagnosed a day ago and probably wouldnt even have had time to die from it.
This of course was in the last sentence of the article.
Yea, like old people never die from pneumonia. It is all from the dreaded virus. My dad died from pneumonia in January.
I presume you got called away on an emergency before you could print the number of deaths if we did nothing. I mean, I’m certain you and everyone else is trying to be perfectly objective and present every side. And I get that the scientists and doctors who estimated that millions could die if we didn’t act are mostly evil, communist liars (although I actually haven’t heard ONE yet object to the actions taken). I’m just grateful to be able to read the facts from posters here who know more than the doctors anyway.
Beyond my sarcasm my point would be that we are in unchartered waters and closing one’s mind to informed opinions is childish. I started off believing the reaction was nuts. I kept my ears open and became convinced that action needed to be taken. I think President Trump has done the exact same thing and continues to (including weighing opinions from economists). If it made sense to him to encourage closing things down like we did, I sure as hell won’t be second guessing him. Nor will I when he encourages us to open up again.
Nothing I disagree with there (because of the use of the word “if”).
But this may be calming for you:

I am an old hippie. I learned a long time ago to question authority. That is what allowed me to expose myself to information proving global warming is a scam. :)
Minorities, women and children hardest hit. Film at 11.

It started in China and they tried to hide it,causing it to be much worse than it could have been.
It is the ChinaVirus.
Septic shock is usually something you get after doctors have had their way with you, e.g. surgery.
Usually people get it in the hospital.
