Plagues did less damage to America than FDR did. His Great Depression was only the beginning of what that commie loving tyrant wrought.

Lincoln & Roosevelt were utter statists.
Fortunately for us, President Trump is not.
Unfortunately for us, the same cannot be said of the nation's multitude of stalinist dimocrat commisars 'governors'.
(and no, I've not seen the video - the threadline was enough)

Im not sure the point is to compare the two except as being president during a great crisis. Thats the whole point of the fourth turning thing.
To: MNJohnnie
Lol - well, agree or disagree, but the point is, both Lincoln and FDR were presidents during transformational periods in American history. They rose to the occasion to lead the country around events they had put in front of them. I believe Trumps vision of America First may now be implemented (if the young generation get behind him)

Gray Champions Summary and Analysis Chapter 5 is only a few short pages. It introduces us to the concept of a 'gray champion' or an elder prophet who marks a period of great peril. Gray champions bring the Fourth Turning to a climax. When a time period has elder prophets, midlife nomads, young adult heroes and child artists, it will produce revolutionary change. We should expect the coming of a new gray champion. The third turning has brought improvements in living standards, but we should expect things to decline. The authors then transition to the next part of the book by looking towards prophecy.

Thank you I am checking this out.
It just from long years of experience here, I had to laugh at us here. To paraphrase famous saying
Freepres don't go in for a fight, they go in for a funereal.

I admit I got a chuckle out of the exchanges between the two of you.
You both understand all too well the dynamics here.
Anything that even touches on Lincoln is going to bring it on.
I grew up in the military environment, but it wasn’t until I joined up myself that I realized fully that for some, the War Between The States never ended!
Nothing like being called a “Damn Yankee” to bring that right home...:)

Instead of Lincoln, FDR’s name should be linked with Machiavelli’s.

Trump was separated at birth from Winston Churchill. They even have the same expression sometimes.

The Fourth Turning guys said that the Fourth turning took place on 9/11. They had predicted a major event that would put us on crisis footing for 20 years, after which the crises would be averted and a new era of normalcy would begin. That would put the end of this current era at roughly 2021 (the 20 years isn't exact). So let's play it out, we have this horrible worldwide shutdown where Trump, the man we were told for four years was incompetent corrupt dictator, was seen to actually be very comforting, energetic, in charge, and on top of what turns out to be a very successful effort to minimize the damage (health and economic). Then he walks into office in a massive landslide pulling republicans into both houses of Congress with him. and we get four years where finally his own party in congress isn't fighting him at every turn and he is able to actually really get things done for America. Yeah, that would be a golden era wouldn't it?
May it be so!
