Three cheers for President Trumps success in forcing a federal bureaucracy that normally moves at the speed of a glacier to begin working at Trump Speed.
From the day he announced he was running, Trumps critics have assailed him with all manner of claims that he was unfit to be President. Their real reason for inventing so many lies was that he wasnt like them because he was a CEO instead of a bureaucrat. He had built a business empire and become wealthy by setting objectives, giving orders to his trusted staff, and holding people accountable for delivering results in a timely and effective manner.
The federal bureaucracy doesnt work like a business. It is built on moving slowly so that it can justify continuing to employ thousands of people who study issues, consider possibilities, formulate plans, and then someday get around to recommending courses of action. Then they wait indefinite periods for decisions to be made by executives whenever it is politically expedient. When a decision is finally made or a law enacted, tens of thousands more are employed to implement the decisions and oversee citizen compliance. As a result, the federal government is the worlds largest, most inefficient, least effective, and most self-protective organization.

Not so fast,. You can't even move a glacier at that speed without an environmental impact statement.
I pray he can restore the economy just as as as the panic begins to subside.
Trump is getting things done, moving this turtle-like federal bureaucracy moving, politically expedient or not, President Trump, the non-politician/outsider and answering to no-one but the American people, getting the beast to move and move quickly...it can be done!
Just imagine the other choice would still be pushing the “Reset” button, and CNN would be reporting that it was working.
To understand what Trump time means consider this. The proposed bill in Congress to attack this pandemic in the US is going to come in at about $2 trillion. There will no doubt be more funds needed as we get further along.
The total cost in today’s dollars for all four years of WWII including the Normandy invasion and the Manhattan project was $4.1 trillion. We have allocated almost half as much in resources to the pandemic in less than 2 months.
I think with Donald Trump’s success in many areas, people should start realizing we need someone who is outside of politics to get anything done. NO BUREAUCRATS ever. All they want to do is play politics and seek gains for their friends and themselves.
A career politician is the last person any of us ever needs.
That is not a good comparison because of two things: per capita GDP is 6 times what it was then and the population is over twice what it was then, so the per capita economic impact of WWII was 12 times what the same impact is today.
Not trying to minimize it, but this is not a wrenching long term displacement of every American.
Walking my dogs in the park here in DC I see hoards of people I never saw before. I am guessing it is all the bureaucrats who infest the agencies and keeps the wheels of bureaucracy spinning.
What do you think they’re doing there on a Sunday? Why aren’t they self-isolating?
Self-isolation means you need to avoid congregating in crowds and stay at least 6 ft from others. It doesn’t mean never going outside.
Oh ok. I thought the ‘hoards’ meant they were in a crowd.

Hi already have my husband at 10 feet social distancing.
I doubt Trump will restore anything since as of even today is busy destroying it by supporting the closing of everything down. Small business cannot sustain weeks of no revenue and large companies will also need to layoff employees.
Amen! Especially since this could be a globalist ploy to destroy the fabulous three-year+ success of Trump economics. (I predicted this possibility perhaps a year ago... although I could not foresee the pandemic vehicle. Response by many doubters. We will see. Truth will out.)
Trump Speed — I like it.
The author describes our federal bureaucracy perfectly.
Gonna need more consumin' out thea!
