Democrat governors, one and all. No where in the article does it mention how they are going to enforce the restrictions.

I get the seriousness of this. If I get the ChiCom Flu, I will probably die due to medical conditions. However, I am taking personal responsibility and actions to not get it. Because of this I fear more for the loss of personal freedoms and liberty after this ends than I fear getting the ChiCom Flu.

After each major disaster, terrorist attack, and now pandemic, government grabs power from the people, and doesn't fully return it. It is the drip, drip, drip of tyranny.

When government does the thinking for the individual, the individual stops thinking and stops taking individual responsibility and action.

Something to think about: Do you feel safer because what government does or what you personally do? Yes, the answer can be both, but which do you rely?

Be prepared. Be safe.

“Democrat governors, one and all. “

Yeah, well DeWine in Ohio is a Republican, sort of, and he’s gone full on little dictator. He’s closed things willy nilly on a seemingly daily basis.

The good news is that I haven’t gone shopping at an indoor shopping mall in years.

Stop bitching so much about the govs you pick and choose and man up that it’s widespread for God’s sake

You guys can’t be taken seriously when you report just what you want.

I agree with you. People so easily give up their freedoms.

I believe that we can respect the seriousness of this but yet not panic. Here on the FR it seems like so many preppers, get so angry, so quickly when’s people don’t see it like that they do. I think some have this pent up hostility and are basically saying, “see, we were right, so stop making fun for us!”

I hope you stay safe.

I felt that way yesterday when I read about a county in North Carolina literally not allowing any non-residents in.

This seems to me to be a step too close to “YOUR PAPERS PLEASE!”.

All Dems, misery loves company. All inept. New York now the epicenter, Cuomo needs to stop blaming the Federal government, Trump, and get to work.

Yeah, I heard about DeWino and other Republican govs. And this point may be subtle, power affects people without regard to party affiliation. In a sense, it affects me. I don't want my power taken from me! However, I think power affects those in government more than others because people in government are powerless without the people. Government doesn't make anything. It takes. Politicians don't have the satisfaction of building anything with their own two hands, e.g., a business.

I heard about Dare County too. I vacation there. It's a real bummer for the hundreds, if not thousands of people vacationing there (although it is off season.) They layout thousands of dollars for vacation homes for a week. I doubt vacation insurance will cover the lost of their rents - Acts of God clause. It is going to kill Dare County businesses too. They rely on tourism dollars.

Note it is completely possible to go to OBX and self isolate, particularly on Hatteras Island. It's almost all homes, few hotels. You get the beach to yourself. This time of the year for surf fishing (outside of the Point). When I go, I usually load up on food and booze at home so I have little need to go to grocery/ABC stores. So lose thousands or take personal responsibility to not get the virus while enjoying the solitude of self isolation at the sea shore?

Actually if you read the article it only makes reference to Democrat governors, so the comment “Democrat governors one and all” is accurate in terms of commenting on this specific article.

Smart thing to do: not let anyone KNOW you’re a ‘prepper’. Smart preppers don’t talk about it or their stockpiles.

Trying to create a recession as far as I can tell to affect the election.

Yes, folks should be careful, but this is getting to the level or absurdity.

Are they seeing any lower rates of infection in states that are being draconian vs ones that are not? I am guessing probably not.

I get if you live in NYC, you are going to have to be more draconian just because of population density, but the idea that this is the end of days i crazy.

You lock 5000 people up on a cruise ship together with the virus known to be on the boat, and more than 80% of those people in those conditions don’t get the virus....

NYC and downstate the epicenter.

Other than a cluster in Albany Cty, a smaller one in Monroe Cty and Saratoga Cty, there’s pretty much bugger all west of the Hudson.

Our dental office called yesterday and canceled my appointment scheduled for April. They said the state dental board said dentists can only work on emergency cases, no routine stuff until further notice!! This is in Alabama. Our church and many local churches have closed until further notice. No services at all until the virus has run it course or someone invents a drug to shut this thing down.
