Although the "racist"-sounding Wuhan virus is now labeled as a pandemic by the World Health Organization, in America the real pandemic, more accurately described as pandemonium, is at the local supermarkets where store shelves resemble those in Venezuela.
America is in the grips of a panic the likes of which we havent seen before. What exactly is a pandemic, other than a scary sounding word from science fiction movies? According to WHO, Pandemic refers to an epidemic that has spread over several countries or continents, usually affecting a large number of people.
Per the Johns Hopkins dashboard, at the time of this writing, there are 147,000 confirmed cases of coronavirus spanning the globe, with 5500 deaths and 72.000 recoveries. Cases in China have leveled off over the past several weeks, suggesting that we in the U.S. may see the same over the upcoming weeks to months.
Wuhan virus is not the first viral pandemic America has had to contend with. The last one was the H1N1 virus from 2009. How did America react to that last pandemic 10 years ago? Does anyone have more than a vague recollection of H1N1, also known as swine flu? No one will forget this current panic, but most have forgotten H1N1.
During the swine flu pandemic, were there mass cancellations of events including conferences, concerts, sporting events, and entire professional sports leagues? Did colleges cancel classes, finishing the remainder of their semesters online? Were travel restrictions imposed between America and Europe? Were panicked Americans hoarding everything from toilet paper to pasta?
If these things happened during the swine flu pandemic, I certainly have no recollection. In 2009, congressional Democrat leaders werent criticizing the president, instead they were trying to force through a government takeover of healthcare, known as ObamaCare.

His brain is going to show Trump how it’s done.
Well one good thing. Got called to Jury duty WED. Called this morn and they are to proceed. Think I will go in there and hack and cough.
I will get outta that.
Not a bad comparison. Their measures are the same as ours. Small country or large isn’t part of the viruses strategy. They have a dense population even though it’s small which is why they have 2,200 cases for a population of less than 9 million. If we had that ratio we’d have 73,000 cases instead of 4,400. They have managed it much better than Italy which is where their cases came from.
the virus does not scare me. It will be what it is and we will get through it. What scares me is not only the level of panic but how many people even on a conservative board such as this are willing to join and spread the hysteria and give up our basic liberties so easily
12,500 Americans from H1N1
Know what? Trump will not be elected next Nov.
We get a demented old son of a bitch as the next POTUS and most likely the witch of November as VP.
All because of these hysterians. Not one of them are conservatives.
And NOTHING has been selling papers for the last few years!!
The Indianapolis Star is now just a pathetic little advertising flyer and Liberal loudspeaker.
I completely agree.
Amen
And 151,700-575,400 worldwide.

Too early to tell with Covid 19 and its alleged lethality.
What I question is why the panic hype of gloom and doom, and yet, none with H1N1.
Anyways, wish you, and those around you, the best, take care.
Quote: “Not only does Dr. Fouci say Coronavirus is 10 times more lethal than seasonal flu, he was specifically asked about the Swine flu in this video. He says the swine flu was less lethal than the regular flu.”
I couldn’t hear him because he was talking out of his arse. HE DOESN’T KNOW!!! HE DOESN’T. And neither do I for that matter. We know so little about this but to keep maximum attention to this and keep everyone vigilant and obedient they must maintain that this is the most serious threat in ever.
Here is what I do know, they are not telling us that any measure that they are forcing on us now will PREVENT the virus. They ARE telling us that it will flatten the curve. But at the end of the day that area under the curve will be the same.
At the end of the day there will also be a scorecard. We will have any idea of how many are infected, well, at least the one’s who manifest symptoms and/or are tested. And at the end of the day if that number pales in comparison to all the other global pandemics, then they have killed us all.
How, because NOBODY, NO. BODY will listen the next time.
Quote: “ I’m not. I’m trying to get people to take this seriously so it’s over as fast as possible. People who compare this to the flu are being irresponsible and are going to be responsible for making it last longer and be more deadly than it would be otherwise.”
Flattening the curve, which makes some sense vis-a-vis avoiding overwhelming
our hospitals will not result in this being over sooner. It will, and has to, extend it.
Hope...reading in a rush today....all this sh*t, the timing, the market, those loses with the sad part of the deaths...thinking of the *ssh*l*s that would pull this kind of sh*t caused me to kinda miss some words and take it at face value and I read it twice...so my apologies then sir!
I think about a very serious flu era I lived through which was much worse than the Swine Flu and certainly as dangerous as maybe this virus.
That was the Hong Kong Flu of 1968, 70 million infected in the USA with over 214,000 deaths. 1 million deaths worldwide.
Anyone have a memory of that?
A few are slipping through, Tom Hanks and his wife come to mind. A number of buried stories on those who have tested positive with no symptoms. Bottom line is that it does not fit the narrative of the deep state controlled puppet media whose goal is to sabotage Trump.
You do realize that we don’t know how many cases we have in the US? We are not testing in any comprehensive way.
Do you know why flattening the curve is so important?
Because he has been spreading panic throughout this thing some people just want other to feel the same panic they do ignore Douglas and Travis McGee no sense even debating them!!
I do. I was sicker than ever in my life. I was young and had 3 kids and I had double pneumonia after 3.5 days and could barely breathe. Antibiotics saved my life. The x ray looked like I was a goner. I never have been vitamin d deficient again, and been exposed to flus and never been that sick or even close.
