The mayor of Champaign, Illinois has declared a town emergency over the Wuhan coronavirus that includes a potential ban on the sale of firearms and ammunition.

According to a local report from WAND 17, Champaign Mayor Deborah Frank Feinen has issued an executive order that would give her office "extraordinary powers." She has issued the order despite the town and surrounding area not having a single case of the disease.

...that looks like my buddy Doug, with a dress and wig! But I’ll vouch for Doug. I know he wouldn’t wear that color.

This over hyped pandemic hoax taking all the oxygen out of the room, diverting attention and could potentially provide a lot of cover for really bad shenanigans to go on below the radar. Watch your six.

Around here, people have been driving on expired tags for freaking months. Cops don’t care to stop them.

You must live in Kansas too. I'll easily see 50 cars a day with expired tags. I saw one that expired 5 1/2 years ago. If I see them everywhere, then sheriffs deputies have to see them. Then there are all the out of state tags, and drivers who somehow get dealers tags and put them on what are clearly their personal cars. Of course Kansas has always had the highest personal property tax in the country. So scofflaws are going to avoid paying it.

They will “import” someone with the virus if they have to.
Or, make one up...a free vacation compliments of the loony left’s efforts to bring about Totalitarian State.

“(18) Suspend or limit burning of any items or property with the City limits and up to two (2) miles outside the corporate limits.”

Claiming authority over land areas outside the land area over which she has some authority. That ought to go over well with those outside the City limits.

Tobacco products are also banned.

Capitalist criminals have taken to craigslist advertising firearms as “Firesticks”, ammo as “boom candy” and toilet paper as “Grecian columns”.

Paving the way for rioting/looting and other lawless pastimes...NOLA confiscated weapons after Katrina and they went nuts - MS didn’t bother enforcing carry restrictions of the time and we were in good shape.

I thought about this “what if” in small towns (such as mine) when SHTF. A despot local municipality will fall in a matter of HOURS irregardless of firearms. So the Police and other workers will fall in line vs the citizens? For the most part, our side has the firearms, prepper knowledge, many Vets etc.

The Model State Emergency Health Powers Act. They can do anything they want to you because they gave themselves permission.

“No one has to obey an order which violates the Constitution.”

Or just drive to the next city over and buy everything you need.

Not long ago, had someone tried this crap, an armed mob would have been at their doorstep, led by the local sheriff.

“No one has to obey an order which violates the Constitution.”

It’ll serve its purpose. By the time it gets through the courts, it will be an extended time of financially shutting down dealers and costing arms makers millions. It will also increase the sales of black market arms and put pressure on law enforcement they won’t handle, all the way to the feds. So the foreign arms dealers will be making millions while the US business people are being hammered into submission.
