True Liberals Are Leaving the Left. It's Time to Welcome Them to the Side Conserving Liberty
NOQ Report ^ | March 12, 2020 | D. Parker

...True liberals are leaving the authoritarian left in droves.

We are witnessing a movement in real time of people who used to consider themselves to be part of the left leaving it and becoming politically homeless. They have varying reasons for this, but it’s primarily because the authoritarian left has lost the plot.

Many in the #WalkAway movement leaving the left find themselves politically homeless because they don’t see our side as any better. Focusing on pragmatic populism only works for a little while, then many start questioning where we are going. This is why we need to have a set of bedrock principles for ourselves and in contrast to the other side that merely craves power over the people.

This is exemplified by the case of Dr. Karlyn Borysenko who became an accidental political commentator who first became prominent in going to a rally for President Trump and writing about in medium.

She penned another article: This liberal went to CPAC. And it was nothing like I expected. As well as broadcasting a Live Stream: Why I became a Democrat and what ultimately made me walk away. While she still holds many views in disagreement with the pro-liberty right, she characterizes herself as a ‘classic liberal’ like many who have walked away from the authoritarian left....

I dunno. He had been in the Senate for 24 years (which one upon a time used to be considered a long time), so I think he was genuine about retiring. It’s also not always fun to be serving in the minority, which he had been in for 6 years at that point. He died just 2 years after he retired, anyway.

And they’d never let JFK in. Harry Truman would be sick of what they are today.

My aunt (dad’s sister) was some highfalutin lawyer in Washington DC. She knew Harry Truman personally. I doubt she would be welcome in today’s rat 🐀 party either.

True liberals have evolved into Demonrats, unless they’ve been cryogenic-ally frozen, or evolved into neocons.

True liberals believed that whatever two consenting adults do in the privacy of their own home is their business. Demonrats believe that homosexuals have a right to get married, with tax benefits, and that trannies should read kids stories at the public library.

True liberals wanted schools to be integrated, and that prayer in public schools violated the Establishment clause because it failed the three-pronged Nyquist test. Demonrats preach anti-religious dogma and attack anyone wearing a Trump hat, a yarmulka, or a crucifix, and encourage students visiting a mosque to go down on their hands and knees and do the Mecca-ward hokey poky.

True liberals believed in free speech. Demonrats believe in suppressing all free speech that makes them feel uncomfortable.

A liberal is a liberal, and none of them are good. A "liberal" might become disenchanted with socialist fiscal policy but, are you so naive as to think they'll be of sound mind concerning fags and abortion?

That's the problem with the GOPe, viz. liberals flood in for an issue or two (mostly, gun rights) but bring the rest of their crap with them.

I don’t quite under stand the context of how you are using “sex predator”.

I am not necessarily a fan of JFK. But I’d like to make a distinction between JFK and Clinton. JFK in my opinion was a “womanizer”. Women willingly went to him. I am not saying this is a moral or good thing, but I would not call him a predator.

The real point I want to make is Clinton was a rapist. A rapist is a predator. A very sick and demented predator. He’s typical of the extreme left that separates the true liberals from the rest of the party.

Perhaps “sex degenerate” would be better served as a descriptive. I’m sure if JFK’s history were fully unearthed, “predator” might well apply. These powerful individuals knew they could do things to women with impunity.

When did the Dems go from JFK, Humphrey to total left wing nut cases? When was the catalyst moment?

There is a huge difference between a classic Liberal and a Leftist....

The Democrats are now the unabashed party of the Global Left, they are not Liberal in the classical sense at all... Classical Liberalism does not shout down those who don’t agree.

During the Clinton years the Party PURGED any and everyone who didn’t tow the line, drove the blue dogs out, and started to require purity....

A few still exist here and there, but they have no say.. The party has been the party of ideological purity of global leftism since the end of the Clinton years...

They still played the game of pretending they weren’t at election time up until Trump... Trump, instead of being polite, simply called them on it... Hillary’s “unexpected” loss caused them to drop the mask wholesale... though still some try to pretend at election time, then go govern far left, the ploy is working less and less.... Trump has exposed them.

Moynihan heartily endorsed the Butcheress of Benghazi for his Senate seat.

I think the Clintons had something on him. He absolutely refused to endorse and then they had a private conversation and ta-da, there he was endorsing Hillary. Suspicious, I say.

Classical Liberalism

Thank you for pointing out that important fact that classic liberalism is far different than social liberalism which is what is the term used today without the "social" .

Classical liberalism is a political ideology and a branch of liberalism which advocates civil liberties under the rule of law with an emphasis on economic freedom. Closely related to economic liberalism, it developed in the early 19th century, building on ideas from the previous century as a response to urbanisation and to the Industrial Revolution in Europe and North America.[1][2][3] Notable liberal individuals whose ideas contributed to classical liberalism include John Locke,[4] Jean-Baptiste Say, Thomas Robert Malthus and David Ricardo. It drew on classical economics, especially the economic ideas as espoused by Adam Smith in Book One of The Wealth of Nations and on a belief in natural law,[5] progress[6] and utilitarianism.[7]

I think he used a term like “normalizing deviancy”, and caught hell from the rest of the Democrats.

"Defining deviancy down" - which is exactly what they were doing and continue to do to this day. And they have taken it so far there aren't many behaviors left that they are willing to call "deviant" today.

If we had an honest media, the Left would be out of business in short order.

That right there is an absolute truth. It'd also make a great tagline here on FR. I may change mine to that.

Liberal originally meant moderate, anti-monarchist, pro-liberty, ethical/moral, enlightened-self-interested, free-marketeer. We call that conservative now. No wonder they don't flock to the Republican Party. /rimshot!
