The senior official passed away on Monday morning at Masih Daneshvari Hospital in Tehran, where a large number of Tehrani citizens suffering from the disease are hospitalized.
Born in 1948 in Qom, Mr. Mohammadi was a member of the sixth and seventh Iranian parliaments.
He had been appointed by Iran’s Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei as a member of the Expediency Discernment Council since August 2017.
He was also a nephew of senior cleric Ayatollah Shobeiri Zanjani, and his mother – the cleric’s sister – had earlier died of the same disease.
Before Mirmohammadi, Iran’s former ambassador to Vatican, Hadi Khosroshahi, had died of COVID-19.

Doesn’t really fit the MO of the CIA or Mossad. Germ warfare is too hard to focus. The inordinate number of senior officials in Iran getting sick might indicate a working relationship with the ChiComms. Or a convenient tool to filter out the hard-liners.

Yes, I agree with you....but Trump knew something very quickly from our intelligence...and acted to close the borders, quarantine etc. Unprecedented, and he did it showing us that’s he’s the leader all the rest of them are not.... Truly amazing.
There was sufficient information on January 1 to make the decisions that Trump made.
On January 1, we knew:
COVID-19 was deadly
COVID-19 was highly transmissible
COVID-19 could be transmitted by people before they become symptomatic
COVID-19 had infected thousands of people, and quarantine in China had failed.
Given this information, Trump reacted quickly and appropriately. It is unprecedented because he did not wait for harm to come to the US, so he took a considerable political risk. The safe thing to do is to wait until people in the US start dying and then put forward a response to a scared population.
Trump decided to implement an appropriate policy without waiting for people to get scared. In doing so, he intervened when intervention may have actually been helpful. But it is so far outside the normal lead-from-behind US political style, that people have a hard time recognizing good public health policy when they see it.

I think we both agree that Trump once again showed amzing intuition and leadership with his decision.
Bush, Clinton Obama etc...would have sat on their hands.
I think the last president who would have acted the same way would have been Eisenhower.
