President Trump has nothing to lose by simply ignoring this order, particularly with the coronavirus fears dominating the narrative. What are the dems going to do, impeach him again? I would love to see some dems going on TV complaining about the "travesty" of not letting "asylum seekers" into the US while we are in the grip of a possible pandemic. Only the most radical leftists would support such a move.

Public sentiment will absolutely be on the President's side. Let them yell and scream about this all they want. It will only hurt the dems with the rational-thinking electorate. Ignore this silly "order" while it is being appealed to SCOTUS. The dems have already used their "impeachment bullet" and it simply bounced off of Trump without leaving so much as a bruise.

I suspect some informal polling amongst other 9 circuit judges told them that an en banc decision would stay the order. One way or the other, there was some serious backroom politics that went into this flip flop.
