California, Nebraska and Illinois are the only U.S. states that can currently test for coronavirus, the Association of Public Health Laboratories (APHL) told Reuters on Friday.
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) last week said some of the testing kits sent to U.S. states and at least 30 countries produced “inconclusive” results due to a flawed component.
The CDC planned to send replacement materials to make the kits work.

So I, Grampa Dave, keeps asking, “ When we are told about results of coronavirus tests: “Who did the tests and what tests did they use?”
Here’s what happened. The test kits that were shipped had one reagent that was faulty. That meant there might be some false positives and false negatives, so the CDC decided everything needed to keep going through them. However, the CDC decided Tuesday or Wednesday (after Pence took over oversight) that it was okay to use the test with 2 of the 3 reagent working, that the tests would be reliable enough and testing really couldn’t wait. So the health depts are using those tests.
Cases that test positive by the local health department are considered “presumptive” cases until verified by the CDC, but the CDC said to treat the cases as if they are already confirmed.
In addition, the FDA has loosened regulations so that health departments can use their own tests.

And yes President Trump has been pro-active on this disease, but just as leftist cities and states ignore him and common sense when it comes to illegal aliens, these sanctuary states will ignore him when it comes to a coronavirus response. The charge of racism has already been dropped by these screwballs. Good luck to all as we not only have to deal with a new virus but also an old foe, the vile left.
And I think we’re doing a good job in dealing with it. Furthermore, there are vaccines and treatments in development which will be ready in a few months in case it comes back again after the summer (which some viruses do).
But nobody has had the spread that China has had, because this communist country is a primitive swamp: the Chinese blow their noses into their hands, even refined looking ladies spit on the street (after having made some disgusting sounds first), their toilets are either holes in the ground or ditches, I doubt that a single Chinese person has ever washed his hands before cooking or eating, and they live packed into tiny places in air that is so polluted that aerial photos can barely find the city itself.
But some people are using this to call for draconian measures which would prevent all travel and free movement even within the US, send “suspected cases” to camps, and essentially give the government unprecedented control over the population. There was a glowing article in the NYT today, holding out as their example...ta da...Cuba.
They were giving Barak credit for the economy although it is a tough call on this latest drop so this will be Trump’s until the recovery and the recovery will be Barak’s again.
The media is trying to talk this into a 6 month correction by giving averages from other inapplicable corrections. The more honest articles are talking about how there will be a dent in consumer spending for a few months at worst.

That's very likely true and I also think 1% mortality is the best guess right now for the rest of the world outside of China, Iran and other authoritarian regimes. That's about 10x worse than the normal flu.
Do you want to be locked into your apartment waiting without food or water or do you want to take care of yourself and take your chances? You will find the people will use their instincts and survive better than the gummit can provide and creativity will win the day.
That's the only part where I disagree a little. The commies have zero qualms about welding people into their apartments to die. That probably didn't help with the spread since people had to get out just to survive. Here we respect life and liberty and if people are quarantined, I hope they remain in place. They should not go out if that may increase the spread.

I believe. The good Lord gave us the planet (and possibly the whole universe)to have dominion over. We explore it and learn his mysteries. As we learn them we improve. If we think all learning stopped 4 or 6 thousand years ago we wouldn’t be flying or driving or even eating hot food. We’d be using flint tipped arrows to get our ‘fast’ food.

If it is an explanation of creation why did he make Eve after he made man? You cannot have both evolution and Eve being made from a rib. Either you believe in God or evolution you cannot believe in both.
