The coronavirus could be up to 1,000 times more infectious than SARS because it plagues the body in the same way as HIV and Ebola, scientists warn.
Experts initially presumed the spread of COVID-19 would follow the same trajectory as the SARS outbreak in 2002/3, because the viruses are almost identical genetically.

It was from the lab, I believe. It might be naturally occurring and naturally lethal but the bat it comes from isn’t indigenous to Wuhan. The horseshoe bat is indigenous to a province that is 600 miles away. Plus, people intviewed who frequent the market that allegedly sold the bats can’t recall bats being sold there.
So based on the last paragraph of your post its just like the regular seasonal flu.
Trillions will die!
It could be, though the press promotes it as being far worse, while a previous paragraph stated,
This means it may be able to cause more damage than viruses we come across often, like the flu or common cold.
But if the promised vaccine from Israel is the best one, anti-Israel states should ban it, to be consistent.
Lets face it this flu is likely not even as dangerous as the regular flu. 6 weeks from now it won’t even make the news cycle. This is Zeka virus, West Nile virus, Ebola virus all over again.
It was from a technical published professional paper, I don’t remember where I saw it, sorry.
A number of our friends were out eating dinner and we all were saying the same thing. People are crazy. Death rates are high in areas where there is poor medical care and personal hygiene is a problem. I don't believe it's nearly as bad as they are making it out to be. It's a way to manipulate the stock market and sink the economy right before the election.

The,measure of infection an estimated R0 of 2.5 (infect 2 to 3 people) would fall well below the R0s for measles and pertussis, which tend to be between 12 and 18. These arent the only diseases that seem to be more contagious than 2019-nCoV. so yes alarmist dont want to report this nor that most cases are like a mild cold.”
IIRC 80% mild to medium, 20% severe, and of that 20% there’s a subset (what %?) that die due to having concurrent health issues & being old.
Grey_whiskers, 1066ad, thanks for y’all’s comments on the blood type connection.
Need research on this, to find that article 1066ad mentioned!
Ping!!!

I read yesterday that blood type can play a role with type O being the most resistant.

Can you find that again and post a link. I know someone who is type O that I would like to share that with.

Send a link to the blood type claim, if you have it, please?

Now —that— is really odd, the numbers changing, on how many sick people on that cruise ship had died.

>>I think a more realistic view of the dangers of this virus could be taken from the Diamond Princess...<<
Exactly. As of this morning out of 705 cases being followed from the Princess, six have died. Very few are shown as recovered.
Oops: STOP THE PRESSES!!
Well, now, this is interesting. I just double-checked the Princess figures to see if the numbers had changed and so they have. They now show only ONE death, not the five they showed earlier or the six I expected because of a report that two more had died today. Yesterday they were reporting four deaths.
Its hard to believe they misattributed earlier deaths to the Princess, so Im going with this: Someone has decided this is information that should no longer be honestly disclosed because the number could get out of hand and panic the hell out of everyone.
Frankly I was thinking the best we could hope for was a two percent fatality rate, given that we were already up to nearly one percent (which would be seven deaths) and there were still well over 600 open cases. Now Im thinking no one is going to give us the actual numbers. Hopefully, Im wrong and a rational explanation will be found for the disappearance of the deaths earlier reported.”
IMHO they had been tinkering with 2 virii & the construct got loose...

“A *CHINESE* source backed up by the French confirm the significance of, though not the origin of, those amino acid sequences the Indian researchers talked about.
When looking at the genome sequence of the new coronavirus, Professor Ruan Jishou and his team at Nankai University in Tianjin found a section of mutated genes that did not exist in Sars, but were similar to those found in HIV and Ebola.
Instead of hooking up to the ACE2 receptor, the novel coronavirus has a cleavage site on the spike. This tricks something called the furin enzyme, on human cells, to cleave the spike at that point allowing the viral membrane and the human cells membrane to join, effectuating the entry of the virus into the cell.
Guess which viruses actively have their own Furin? Ebola and AIDS.
Guess which viruses DONT have anything like this?
The mutation could not be found in Sars, Mers or Bat-CoVRaTG13, a bat coronavirus that was considered the original source of the new coronavirus with 96 per cent similarity in genes, it said.
Remember confirmed by the French, too, Chinese source.
Meanwhile, a study by French scientist Etienne Decroly at Aix-Marseille University, which was published in the scientific journal Antiviral Research on February 10, also found a furin-like cleavage site that is absent in similar coronaviruses.”

Thank you.
Am looking for a report about blood types and susceptibility to the virus.
1066ad saw an article and couldn’t find it again.
Found it, it was a tweet:

or, direct:

Maybe someone can explain it in simple terms :)
Many thanks, 1066ad !!
Ping to source of type O and virii

Thanks.
Good to be type O.
Isn’t type O the universal blood type (for donating, etc?)

Yes.

It was odd, but it was also apparently just an error.
By the next day the fatalities had been restated as six again where they are now.
