New Chinese study indicates novel coronavirus did not originate in Huanan seafood market

A new study by Chinese researchers indicates the novel coronavirus may have begun human-to-human transmission in late November from a place other than the Huanan seafood market in Wuhan.

The study published on ChinaXiv, a Chinese open repository for scientific researchers, reveals the new coronavirus was introduced to the seafood market from another location, and then spread rapidly from market to market. The findings were the result of analyses of genome-wide data, sources of infection and the route of spread of 93 samples of the novel coronavirus collected from 12 countries across four continents.

Tom Cotton @SenTomCotton Well, look at that. The Chinese Communist Party’s propaganda rag finally admits what I’ve said for a month: coronavirus didn’t start in Wuhan food market. So where did it originate? Time for answers from CCP

The study believes that patient zero transmitted the virus to workers or sellers at the Huanan seafood market. The crowded market facilitated the further transmission of the virus to buyers, which caused a wider spread in early December 2019.

According to the researchers, the new coronavirus experienced two sudden population expansions, including one on January 6, 2020, which was related to the Chinese New Year’s Day holiday.

An earlier expansion occurred on December 8, implying human-to-human transmission may have started in early December or late November, and then accelerated when it reached the Huanan seafood market.

So they created a virus that asians are much more susceptible to (possibly) and that western medicine seems to be treating much better. Many have recovered at home or are already back home after being in the hospital.

Is there some long term effect of the virus that isn’t known yet?

And China isn’t NK. They do TONS of business and travel with the western world.

The Western world owes them a fortune (US).

I don’t see the logic.

Maybe it was meant for Taiwan.

Hmmm... the bioweapons lab is now the first most likely origin.

I don’t trust what any government is saying including our owns with regard to Coronavirus. But I trust the Chinese government even less.

“Maybe it was meant for Taiwan.”

Or it was meant for Caucasians and it backfired on them via God or plain old karma.

You said what I really did want to say. Not as if our government has exactly been upfront, neither. And I don’t mean Trump, I believe Deep Staters see this as the big chance to nail Trump, never let a crisis go to waste.

I don’t think it was an intentional release. The evidenced susceptibility is likely environmentally related, not genetic per se.

People of Asian genetic heritage have gotten the coronavirus and survived it statistically better than Asians in Wuhan because they got to a better medical system or didn’t have preexisting conditions affecting lung function.

“Or it was meant for Caucasians and it backfired on them via God or plain old karma.”

Or they are willing to sacrifice a quarter of their population to wipe out the ME and the west to become supreme world power. Will the west really put in the quarantine measures China has done so far?

Did a guy in a biohazard suit happen to drop by for some fish?
Nothing to see here, I’m sure of it.

Maybe it was meant for Taiwan.

It seems particularly deadly for Han Chinese, who make up the majority of the population of Taiwan.

Plenty of these things escape from labs.

Oh, but we're all paranoid conspiracy theorists for thinking that this escaped from a lab in China - which has already had this happen a half dozen times...THAT WE KNOW ABOUT!

But they kept quiet about this plague, which made it possible for hundreds of thousands of Chinese to travel home for their holidays and then return to countries all over the world, including ours. A responsible country would have sounded the alarm in late Nov.

I should mention after Lancet reported something similar the Chinese media reported that many animals in the market tested positive to try to discredit

so this is a major backtrack

ChinaXiv, a Chinese open repository for scientific researchers

Now really, just how open does anyone think this is...

I doubt Wuhan level 4 is a weapons lab at all, just another poorly run, bureaucratic, arm of the government health machinery. Does the CDC having its level 4 lab in metro Atlanta make that lab a weapons shop? No, it's just proof that bureaucratic institutions run by and for government are all in the habit of making stupid decisions.

Most likely, someone took home a lab test animal that they were supposed to kill in order to have a special treat for New Years, caught the virus and spread it while shopping for goodies to serve with their special treat. That would explain how it got out of the lab and Chinese thrown out of Canada for stealing virus samples could well explain where it originated.

Canada, the US, and a dozen other countries including China, are now and for years have been trying to come up with vaccines against flu like viruses. During that process they without a doubt end up with mutations that are worse than the flu they start with. I figure that's what this bug is, someones lab experiment that was never supposed to leave a lab in Canada. It's no where near lethal enough to even be in the running for what the weapons folks want.

Maybe it was meant for Taiwan.

Given the simulations of bio warfare that they have to have done, I cannot imagine them planning to release a deadly virus that close to their own country. Even China would have trouble stopping smugglers and fishing boats from interacting across a straight that is only 130 miles.
