Can this really be all there is?
No, I'm not lamenting the pointlessness of existence. I'm expressing despair over the state of the race to decide on a Democrat to face President Trump in November.
So why do all of them seem so unappealing? So incapable of defeating our corrupt, incompetent, and immoral president? So unworthy of being given a chance to try?
It's possible that I'm the problem. I define myself more as an anti-Republican than a committed Democrat. I'm a centrist whose centrism doesn't quite map onto the policies typically embraced and espoused by the party's moderates. I'm an old-school liberal (less neoliberal than I used to be) on economics; somewhat more conservative on social and cultural issues (I really would like abortion to be safe, legal, and rare); and a critic of American foreign policy, especially since 9/11.

A centerist, he says. A Centerist, one who swings in any direction without conviction for any position; no moral compass; go along, get along. Yes, the author is the problem, the author an myriad dregs and sediments like him.
The author is right in one aspect, though. None of the Socilist Democrats seeking the nomination for President are worthy of a foot note in the pages of history, much less the nomination.

Any one who has watched “The Celebrity” knows why Trump is unbeatable.
Quite simply put, you don’t argue with success. And Trump is the living embodiment of it.
Which the Democrats don’t have. Period.

There is a presumption, apparently based in not much of anything concrete or verifiable, that Donald J. Trump is corrupt, incompetent, and immoral. This is a pretty bald assertion, which in my notion borders on calumny and ad hominem attacks.
Sure, Donald Trump may be crude, rude, and sometimes a little lewd, but he is also pretty darned shrewd, and speaks to the common people in the terms they best understand. Not only that, but he acts on their behalf as well, in very tangible ways and with the long-term interests of the United States of America at heart.
There is no fail. There is only winning, or at worst, a learning experience, at which time another win will be figured out.
Democrats used to lie about who they are to get elected. Today, they’ve dropped the pretense altogether.
They’re no longer even hiding they’re not moderate.

Trump isn’t a doctrinaire followed of the hardest Austrian school of economics.
Trump is more conservative than not on social issues, and has said he has no problem with gay marriage.
Trump is anti-abortion but that seems far more centered on the psychotic post birth abortion and PP selling baby parts.
Trump is a critic of our post 9/11 foreign policy and has been in constant conflict with neocons, democrats and the Generals who want to keep the wars going.
So what’s this guy’s problem with Trump? He said immoral? Compared to which democrat? And his article laments what is a centrist supposed to do, then details how each demonrat is not centrist enough. Never said a thing about Trump except that he is “immoral”. And he never said a word about Tulsi who fits the bill perfectly for him.
This tool putz is a joke. He’s a hard core democrat, just admit it.
