I still remember the laughably bad “American Dream” song that CSNY came out with as a protest against Reagan 40 years ago. They were washed up then and Young certainly is even more washed up now. I used to also think ill of Neil Young, until I heard the story of his son and what Neil has done for him , as well as what he has done to raise money to help others afflicted with cerebral palsy.

Any man with a heart that big, cannot be condemned as a total loser, as some here have. Fine, he is a liberal Democrat, he has that right. But he does have real family values and that is important.

I liked Neil and his music. But today he’s just a bitter old crank. Pot is (was) his drug of choice. His biography, Shakey was saturated in marijuana. I am sure he has toned this down.
