Barr has told those close to Trump that he may quit if president keeps tweeting about investigations

WASHINGTON - Attorney General William Barr has told people close to President Donald Trump - inside and outside the White House - that he is considering quitting over Trump's tweets about Justice Department investigations, three administration officials said, foreshadowing a possible confrontation between the president and his attorney general over the independence of the Justice Department.

So far, Trump has defied Barr's requests, both public and private, to keep quiet on matters of federal law enforcement. It was not immediately clear Tuesday whether Barr had made his posture known directly to Trump. The administration officials said Barr seemed to be sharing his position with advisers in hopes that the president would get the message that he should stop weighing in publicly on the Justice Department's ongoing criminal investigations.

"He has his limits," said one person familiar with Barr's thinking, speaking on the condition of anonymity, like others, to discuss internal deliberations.

If Barr truly said that he was going to ‘resign’ because of the President’s tweets, he is not going to resign because of the President’s tweets. Barr has been investigating for months; investigating the sewage that DC is comprised of. If Barr resigns, it won’t be because of Trump’s tweets.

Barr going on ABC Fake News was worse than any of Trump’s tweets.

And McConnell following up on Fox a few hours later to validate Barr’s attack on Presidential prerogative only threw more fuel on the fire. The swamp is striking back as POTUS gets to the heart of the coupist matter. No doubt.

I agree Barr should not have gone on ABC..! But I still feel like Laura, it would be best when there is a ongoing investigation to withhold some of the comments.

There have been “ongoing investigations” since near the day Trump moved into the White House.

What’s going on here is the swamp is trying to shut up POTUS. He’s getting close to exposing them and they are trying to keep a lid on the coup until the election.

Laura Ingraham says it’s True, and she’s tired of Trump’s Tweets.

I'm trying to remember, when Laura is grinning into the camera, is it the right side of her mouth that stays slightly open, or the left?

Debunked how? DOJ spokesperson says he isn’t “planning” on resigning. How does that debunk him allegedly telling others he has been thinking about quitting.

I do agree with you and I am all for his tweets. I think President Trump has no alternative really. It is the ONLY way he can communicate to we the people. My concern is about a on-going situation which Barr is working on.

". . . if he would only follow their advice, he might yet be able to accomplish something as president."

I hope that was with irony. The list of what President Trump has accomplished just this month is impressive.

Here is my thinking about what Trump is doing by not getting those responsible for the coup. He is letting them think that nothing is going to happen to them. Once they think that, they start letting their guard down and start talking to their friends while the intelligence monitoring system takes every communication they make. This will expose them all, like pigs to the slaughter. Cue the Deliverance music.

In the mean time, Trump will continue making historic accomplishments one day at a time.

Oh, so you believe “anonymous sources.”

Barr made clear that he isn’t going anywhere. If the “sources” were correct, he wouldn’t have said that.

Your precious Compost and Buttpirate Drudge both lied again.

I believe the strategy is coordinated. This is raise the shiny object to distract from the true objective.

That is an effective tactic.

The feds even have a name for it. I believe it is called “stirring the wire”.

They “leak” some exciting news that makes the hunted rush to the phones to discuss it with their gang, and of course the phones are tapped.

Time will tell.

But one thing is certain, tweets or no tweets, President Trump is the most effective fighter of our time. Probably in our history.

“...Just suppose what would happen if he arranged for only one person working there to be told that Barr was considering leaving...”

Aha! Been thinking about this possibility for a while since this started up....that there must be some “invisible” reason this kind of info is flying around....just maybe....
