If the legislation is passed by the Senate, where Democrats also hold control, and signed into law by the governor, Virginia would subsequently be entered into the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact.
Even if NPV goes into effect in time -- and it's obvious that its advocates will do all they can to prevent that, because 2020 is going to the worst can of whupass most of them have ever seen -- President Trump will be reelected by a nice margin, which under NPV would require he receive the votes, and Demagogic Party stooges everywhere will Tweet their suicide notes.

What the actual arse is going on in Virginia these days? Every day it's some new bit of nonsense.
Or has Northam's madness emboldened the Legislature to test new idiocy to inflame Conservatives?

That will never happen. These people are pathetic.
Hopefully enough rural voters in Virginia will turn out to take the state back from these commies. Trump voters are energized like never before.
I will crawl across a mile of broken glass to vote for Trump and vote out every democrat.

In our Republic a Presidential Election is actually 50 separate Elections.
We are the United States of America, not the Soviet Union with a Central Government controlling Member States.
Disenfranchising the Voters of VA should be treated as a Capital Offense.
What a joke. It’s becoming a very liberal state.

Fred Thompson was one of the original drivers of this. I respected the man, once.

Not when the democrat gets 35,000,000 votes in California.

Is this constitutional? Electoral votes are for states to decide individually.
And they're "deciding" to, rather than go by the total votes in their state, go with the total votes in the popular.
I know I'm wrong somehow. But I don't see how the feds have authority to tell them that they CAN'T decide how to award their electoral votes.
From what I understand, a state can choose to award their electoral votes based on a coin toss as it is constitutionally up to them to decide how to do it. As long as it adheres to their STATE constitution.
The one thing I DON'T think they can do, constitutionally, is enter into agreements and compacts with OTHER states to make that determination. An agreement with another state becomes inter-state which would then fall under federal control.
Meh....I know that I'm probably missing something here. Slam as you see fit.

What a joke. It’s becoming a very liberal state. And no one seems to know how it happened.
Did Republican KNOW Virginia was targeted for take over? If they did, why didn't they issue an alert?
If they DIDN'T know, why didn't they know?

I believe the argument is that you are unconstitutionally disenfranchising your states voters if you ignore the states votes.

The key words: “Under the compact”. Compacts between States are unconstitutional unless approved by the Congress. Additionally, it would be unlikely to survive a court challenge as the intent is clearly to change the U.S. Constitution without using the Amendment process.

The Democratic-led Virginia House of Delegates has passed legislation that seeks to award the states electoral votes to the presidential candidate that wins the national popular vote in an election. The Communist-led Virginia House of Delegates continues to pass unconstitutional legislation.
Is there any reason to believe that this do-nothing group will do anything for the people of Virginia?
They appear to be driven by hate of voters and the USA.

Point to Ponder: How does giving Virginia’s electoral votes to the candidate that came in third place in Virginia but first place nationally represent the will of Virginia voters?
