CONCORD, NH -- Two days before a once-mission-critical primary in a state she neighbors, Sen. Elizabeth Warren - typically exceptional at holding a room - had not finished speaking when something unusual happened: Dozens of voters began filtering out of the middle school gym she had reserved.
Campaign staff strained to enlist prospective volunteers on their way to their cars. Someone, anyone, one organizer called out as departing guests stepped around him.
And when Warren wound toward her big finish, the go-out-and-get-em kicker in these urgent final hours, her mind wandered accidentally to home.
Its up to you, Massachusetts, to decide what to do, Warren instructed.
Supporters looked back at her, murmuring. She realized why. And to the people of New Hampshire! she amended.
Yeah, I dont know, Warren told reporters in Concord, when pressed on the early exits in her audience. It seemed like, to me, a pretty enthusiastic crowd.
Many Warren admirers remain almost preternaturally calm about her electoral position, deciding after a year of semipermanent metapunditry from voters that this is not the time to overreact to disappointing news.
Warren set off on her unity case. Theres been a lot of good people in this race, she said, trumpeting recent staff hires. I want you to know, Ive put as many of them as I could into my campaign.
Up the street, a Sanders canvasser walked by a home with signs out front for Klobuchar and Buttigieg.
Someone in a passing car recognized Warren as she stepped toward the next address. He lowered the window to announce himself:
Go Bernieeeeeeeeeee.

It will be either be a Bernie-Amy or a Doomberg-Amy ticket.
There has to be a woman on the ticket.
“...a common belief that Massachusetts voters by the busload cast ballots in NH too..”
Just like Chicago filth do in Wisconsin.
She wears the same darn black pants and white top everywhere she goes and have you noticed she runs and does not walk.
She sounds to preachy.
Warren is Hillary without the warmth
I’ve come to despise those primary colored sports jackets and black slacks that scarecrow wears every damn time she appears almost as much as I do the pants suit wrecker’s drapes. I’d hate to be her cleaners.
“She wears the same darn black pants and white top everywhere she goes”
Her clothing is less awful than vacuum cleaner bags The PIAPS always wore.
Just saying
The sun has gone down and the moon has come up
And long ago somebody left with the cup
But she’s driving and striving and hugging the turns
And seeking nomination for which she still burns
Massholes interfering with NH elections has been a sore spot with NH its (whatever they are called) for a LONG time.
What an idiotic thing to say in the capitol of NH.
Yes, this struck me too. If you are eager to hear from a candidate, wouldn’t you stick around to the end?
These supporters, and/or persuadable people who wanted to see Elizabeth Warren, started leaving before she was done? Doesn’t that show some big disappointment among those voters?
“She is more unlikeable than Hillary. And more mendacious.”
Almost no one thought that was possible (including me), but there it is.
She spoke the truth.
What, is Doomberg going to throw his box at Trump?
Which race? The Native American one?
Dana Carvey’s old SNL Church Lady character come to life and running as a Democrat, determined to stick her nose into everyone else’s business and determined to make sure everyone else lives by her rules.
And Amy Klobucher reminds me of the Debbie Downer character.
Sounds like a dirty trick by the Biden or Mayor Pete campaigns.
MSNBC had a guy on earlier who said, "I'm a registered Republican and I'm NOT voting for Trump."
Very few people phrase it that way - a normal response might be, "I'm a Republican..." when a person throws in 'registered' it means they expect a challenge.
Similar to the person who volunteers, "You can trust me" - You can't. Honest people don't have to say that... Same with "I won't hurt you" - they will.
And of course the liberal press doesn't look too close if the person is saying what they want to hear...
The big boys have turned on Warren...
She’s a liar. A born liar. An habitual liar. A liar down to her 1/1024th Cherokee toenails.
Liars are boring.
After 4 years of college, the one thing I learned is not to trust a liar.
