Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), a 2020 White House hopeful, on Sunday dismissed concerns that his status as a self-proclaimed democratic socialist would be a liability in a general election and said President Trump’s description of his ideology as “communist” was inaccurate.
“Obviously I am not a communist,” Sanders told host Chris Wallace on “Fox News Sunday” in response to a clip of Trump using the designation in a Fox News interview, adding that Trump “maybe doesn’t know the difference.”
Sanders also called Trump a “pathological liar” for claiming Sanders was “married in Moscow.”
Wallace continued to press Sanders on how he would address criticisms that agenda items such as the Green New Deal, Medicare for All and forgiveness of college debt are both overly radical and prohibitively expensive.
“In many respects, we are a socialist society today,” Sanders responded, noting the tax breaks and subsidies Trump received from the government as a businessman.
“The difference between my socialism and Trump’s socialism is I believe the government should help working families, not billionaires,” he added.
Addressing his specific proposals, Sanders said both the price tags and the overhaul of the status quo were preferable to the alternative.
“If we leave the [health care] status quo alone, in the next 10 years we’re going to be spending $50 trillion,” he said. “Medicare for All will cost the average American less than the $12,000 a year they are paying the insurance companies.”

You are absolutely right karpov my FRiend. i have know Sanders since 1981 , when he was jokingly called the Mayor of Stannard , Vermont, a small underpopulated mountain hamlet in Vermont. (There are no mayors in the towns of Vermont, they are called Chairs of the Board of Selectmen.)
Bernie had moved there from New York in the late 1970s as part of the “return to the land movement” which saw thousands of hippies move to Vermont to grab up then cheap rural Vermont real estate for their commune style farm collectives.That was in fact a radical socialist/communist movement of which Bernie took part.
I first noticed Bernie in 1983 or so , when Bernie was the self proclaimed joke as “Mayor of Stannard”, a tiny hamlet that had almost no local government. Bernie was pretty much self appointed, elected by acclamation, they had no one to really run the town who wanted to, touting himself in the news every chance he got. I first saw him picketing local garbage trucks as the sole picketer , a self proclaimed mayor mind you,for self righteously proclaimed need for recycling in the small hamlet that had less than 200 residents.They barely had enough garbage weekly to even fill a pick up truck.
Bernie is a Commie through and through, an inheritor of the Bolshevik view of leftist Jewish society that comprises the majority of the Jewish commies now arrayed against President Trump and the freedom of the People.That includes Schiff, Nadler and the rest.
Bernie’s America would be an America ruled by autocrats, no personal freedom , with all wealth greedily reserved for the ruling communist autocracy, keeping the People chained , and down.America would eventually have only one bank run by the Soros banking empire.
Make no mistake about that, America would be destroyed under Bernie. It would likely cause a civil war if he were president.
Bernie is a wolf trying to re-wear a worn out cloak of a bleating harmless sheep. Don’t buy that for even a second America.Do not elect the “Mayor of Stannard” as president.

Obviously? No, it’s not at all obvious. Bernie will try to “No True Scotsman” his way out of the ideological label, but he will be playing defense the whole way. It doesn’t really matter. The Democrats are in the process of eliminating Bernie the same way they did four years ago. Bernie is worse to the Democrat Establishment than Trump is to the GOPe. The only reason they haven’t killed Bernie is they are hoping he’s so old they won’t have to.
