President Trump and his aides wasted little time opening a campaign of retribution against those he blames for his impeachment, firing on Friday two of the most prominent witnesses in the inquiry against him barely 48 hours after the Senate acquitted the president.
Emboldened by his victory and determined to strike back, Mr. Trump fired Gordon D. Sondland, the ambassador to the European Union, within hours of the White House dismissing Lt. Col. Alexander S. Vindman, a decorated Iraq war veteran who was a Ukraine expert on the National Security Council. Both officials testified to a House committee about the president’s efforts to pressure Ukraine to help him against his domestic political rivals.
“I was advised today that the president intends to recall me effective immediately as United States Ambassador to the European Union,” Mr. Sondland said in a statement just hours after Colonel Vindman’s dismissal. He expressed gratitude to Mr. Trump “for having given me the opportunity to serve.”

His wrong doing was to pass his assumptions on to others as factual information from the President. He obviously did not qualfy his “information” as his assumptions but indicated to those with whom he spoke that those were the wishes of the President. I call that wrong doing.
Evidently there’s a slew of folks who didn’t see the, “UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT” signs.
Sondland created a mess with his assumptions, but I must have missed actual wrongdoing on his part.
That said, he serves at the pleasure of the President as a representative of that President.

I surely thought President Trump would wait until after the election to clean house ... his internal polls must be through the roof to do this ... of course, it DOES send a signal to the rest of the traitors in the White House, and I suppose he’s doing this on purpose so the Dems and media go insane attacking him ...
President Trump is right in firing those whom he can. We have no need for slimy seditious traitors. He should also refer them for prosecution.

Vindman’s twin brother still serves in the WH. He is suspected of colluding with Bolton to leak parts of his manuscript under review.
Something “there” is still in play as removing the Vindman twin would add fuel to any “obstruction” charges.
