A growing number of Democratic lawmakers are calling for Twitter and Facebook to pull down an edited video of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) that was posted by President Trump on Thursday, reigniting a battle over how much responsibility social media platforms should assume over viral footage that could mislead viewers.
The back-and-forth over the Pelosi video is opening up fresh wounds, as Democrats are still incensed by Twitter and Facebook's previous decision to leave up a different manipulatively edited video of Pelosi that went viral last year.
Pelosi's deputy chief of staff, Drew Hammill, on Friday said the "latest fake video of Speaker Pelosi is deliberately designed to mislead and lie to the American people."
"The American people know that the President has no qualms about lying to them — but it is a shame to see Twitter and Facebook, sources of news for millions, do the same," Hammill said on Friday. "Every day that these platforms refuse to take it down is another reminder that they care more about their shareholders’ interests than the public’s interests.”
Hammill said Pelosi's office has asked both Twitter and Facebook to take down the video.

That video is not fake... It shows Nancy ripping up the state of the Union, and she did rip up the state of the Union... End of story.
Exactly.....calling it to be removed just draws more attention to it. :)
Well it is and I see their point but Dems do this stuff all the time anyway.
IMO, it would have been better if they showed her (and the rest of the Dems) sitting on their hands when all those in the gallery where mentioned by POTUS. Then at the end fast forward to briefly show each one followed by her tearing up the speech after each one. That would nail it.

CedarDave this is classic satire. The State of the Union speech happened and this is satire. Democrats are being patronizing if they don’t trust voters to understand satire.
Well that’s how I see it anyway. Political satire is not the same as claiming Benghazi occurred because of an offensive YouTube video. I think people can handle it.

No one would be fooled into thinking she did exactly the same thing the same way every time. The viewers understand.
Obviously, Trump Derangement Syndrome has caused Democrats to go insane. Even James Carville recognizes this.
Certainly they’ve heard of the Streisand effect. One can only hope that all Democrats who oppose the First Amendment will loudly and publicly register their complaints to Twitter and Facebook. Even if Twitter pulls the video, the video will be available elsewhere. And, if it were to pull a video from Trump’s Twitter feed, it would be headline news and create even more curiosity. (E.g., how many of you know the name of the so-called “whistleblower” that no corporate media outlet has published?)
I have dreamed my entire life for the R’s to make videos like that
