Rush Limbaugh announces he has 'advanced lung cancer'.

Longtime influential conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh announced on his show Monday he was diagnosed with "advanced lung cancer," a shocking announcement in which he said he will miss shows for treatment.

“This day has been one of the most difficult days in recent memory, for me, because I’ve known this moment was coming,” Limbaugh said. “I’m sure that you all know by now that I really don’t like talking about myself and I don’t like making things about me… one thing that I know, that has happened over the 31-plus years of this program is that there has been an incredible bond that had developed between all of you and me.”

The greatest thing about Rush has always been that when he comes under the inevitable attacks of the Left he rarely backs away or gives ground. (apologizing to Sandra Fluke the Slut is the only glaring exception that comes to mind).

He is quite Trumplike in this way.

I wonder if POTUS has made a statement.

I am stunned, too. He has been our voice for decades, helping us feel that we are not alone.

To this day I still recall the first time I heard him. January 1989...I was on I-75 somewhere between Tampa and Sarasota when I happened upon WFLA. I was astounded....”this guy thinks just like me”.

“He has taught us well to continue the fight no matter what happens.”

That is true, but we still need him as our touchstone.

Wow that is amazing. The only concern I would have though is right now our government is so insanely corrupt, just look at the crap Trump has been going through, and I would imagine if a cure did come forth the cancer lobbyists would be pressuring the hell out of these scumrats in Washington to crush that cure as cancer treatments are a multi- billion dollar business.

I suspected he had a health issue, Before Christmas he was coughing and choking often on air. Then there was the mysterious non return to broadcast after the holiday break and his being gone for a sudden unscheduled reason and his explanation was it was a ‘super secret very important event’. I suppose that is when he was told the results of the tests and probably biopsy and given the prognosis. RL could have kept this covered for a while but he chose the right path by choosing transparency. his also ends media rat speculating and buying information for a gotcha revelation.

This is very, very serious. I know the left are ecstatic and can't wait until Limbaugh as to leave his broadcast duties. Surgery, radiation and chemo are massively debilitating and recovery from lung surgery is extremely painful. All we can do is pray and hope he can be able to at least make a fighting retreat and keep swing for some more years.

I can only imagine the vile glee of the left over this news.

Some people get lung cancer that never smoked. My twin sister died in 2002 of Lungcancer. She had smoked 40 years. She stopped smoking five years earlier, but that was not soon enough.

Similar experience in my case. I first heard Rush Limbaugh in Amarillo, Texas in 1989. His voice and oratorical style caused me to wince and imagine him as some bearded liberal in a tweed jacket. However, I didn’t turn him off and was surprised that he was solidly conservative.

‘but I’ve gleaned from his comments over the years that he smoked heavily.’

I believe he said it was a three pack a day habit...

It probably wasn’t the cigars.

It's genetics......some smokers die of cancer, others don't. Some never smokers die of lung cancer and others don't.........

I think it's best to keep tobacco usage out of this tragedy..........

It goes quick with Lung cancer. If I am not mistaken it’s about 6 month or so. It might be longer, because my sister stopped continuing with her chemo tharapy.

“I told the staff today that I have a deeply personal relationship with God that I do not proselytize about, but I do, and I have been working that relationship tremendously,” he said.

There are no words that can adequately express what millions of people across the country are feeling right now. The only comfort I find is knowing that Rush's heart and spirit reside with the Lord as he begins this walk, with some 15 million family members joining him in prayer.

hen you’re in a room- you inhale a lot of the smoke- as it lingers in the air around you- but yeah, it was likely mostly the ciggs that caused it-

Don't go there..........
