In scathing comments Thursday as her party appeared on the verge of defeat in the Senate impeachment trial, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi argued that President Trump "cannot be acquitted" if the trial lacks the witness testimony and documentation that Democrats have been seeking.
The San Francisco Democrat also fired on Trump's impeachment defense team, saying they've "disgraced themselves" during this week's trial and suggesting they deserve disbarment over their trial remarks.

Last year nadler begged pelosi for the chair of the judiciary committee. ..nads promised her that he is the only one that can impeach Trump. She is delusional. The House did not have a valid reason to impeach, and it is not the job of the Senate to come up with reasons.
She controls the speakership by virtue of her power to raise money and distribute it to obedient caucus members for reelection. AOC has demonstrated to the world that there are other sources of money and the power of Nancy Pelosi to intimidate or subsidize has been revealed to be illusory because there is another game in town.
Pelosi's second source of power was that she acted as the bell mare for the feminist movement in the Democrat party which is, along with African-Americans, the foundation of all Democrat electoral chances. Only the truest of believers, those women who fell on their knees and howled at the announcement that Donald Trump had won the election, can see her as anything but a spent force.
Judging from the turnout in southern New Jersey for the Trump rally, my best guess nine months before the election is that the Democrats will lose the House. Nancy Trump is desperately trying to evade the fallout from the impeachment fiasco but even with the help of the media, which she will certainly get, enough of the American people have reached a judgment and she will be seen by both Democrats and Republicans, and by feminists as well, as the woman who played politics with impeachment.
You know, a newly hammered in nail is very useful - it's doing what a nail is supposed to, holding stuff together.
I rather think of her as the nail that was bent driving in. It was useful to start with - straight, shiny, new, a life of usefulness ahead of it. But now it's too twisted, bent and ugly to leave in the structure. It's useless. It needs to be ripped out and thrown into the scap pile where all cutoffs go, and forgotten.
I will argue it is much simpler
It has dawned on Nancy Pelosi that she is actually irrelevant. Her efforts at impeachment are valued at naught.

Remember the time when President Trump said in November of 2018 he would help House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi become speaker of the House in January 2019 if she is unable to garner enough votes in her caucus? He knew she’d lead them down a road to self destruction by just letting her expose all the hate, anger and delusional thought the Dems have toward him and our country... it’s worked perfectly!
