WASHINGTON (JTA) — Bernie Sanders launched a campaign video highlighting his Jewish identity and casting President Donald Trump as part of the white nationalist threat.
The four-minute video posted Thursday night on Sanders’ Twitter feed, interpolates excerpts from Sanders’ speech last year to J Street, the liberal Jewish Middle East policy group, with commentary by Joel Rubin, the campaign’s Jewish outreach director. It starts with Sanders’ declaration of pride in being Jewish. “I’m very proud to be Jewish and look forward to becoming the first Jewish president in the history of this country,” Sanders says.
During his 2016 run for the Democratic nomination, Sanders at first played down his Jewish background, although he was the first Jewish major-party candidate to win nominating contests. This cycle, he has emphasized his Jewishness.
The video otherwise focuses almost entirely on the threat that Sanders says President Donald Trump poses to Jews and other minorities.
“Jewish values teach us that community matters, that tolerance matters, that engaging the other matters,” Rubin says, and notes his roots in Pittsburgh where in 2018 a gunman killed 11 worshipers at The Tree of Life synagogue complex, “some of whom were friends of my parents.”
“We live in a perilous time where not only are white nationalists attacking our synagogues and raising hate speech on the internet, we have a white nationalist right now sitting in the White House,” Rubin says, referring to Trump’s equivocation in condemning neo-Nazis after a deadly march in Charlottesville, Virginia in 2017.
“We need to have someone in office who gets it, gets it in his kishkes, understands what it really means to ensure that we are healing our world,” Rubin says.

But it is bizarre behavior. A guy who has spent every bit of his decades long political career running from his Jewishness is suddenly embracing it? Something is going on here. Especially as the Democrats become anti-Semitic. Bizarre.

Sanders is an anti-Torah, G-d hating Jew who will be damned with all the evil ones for all eternity. Those who adore him and his ilk will go down to the pit with him. There are two ways that the Torah teaches Israel to preserve her holiness: First by rigorous enforcement of the Law, so that evil never secures a foothold in Jewish Culture. We are well past that point. Now it is Evil that is sodomizing our young ones and choking righteousnes to death. The Second way to save the nation is by a Sovereign act of G-d.
He will Judge this Nation severely if it does not repent, and death come in unimaginable horror. This will happen. G-d is not mocked. Sinners Will Be cast into Hell, and so will every nation that forgets G-d.
Trump also recently issued an executive order on anti-semitism after all the attacks on Jews over the past few years.
My God, these people are insane. The fact they are running for President - still - and haven’t been laughed off the stage by this point, is literally inexplicable.
I don’t know if there is any hope left for this country. I really don’t.

The man is a real hater
As a Jew myself, it infuriates me that the self-hating Jew Sanders is trying to play “the Jewish card” at all. That he is doing so against the single most pro-Israel President we have ever had, merely compounds this outrage. No one with any sense will believe it but, then again, he is trying to win votes in the Democrap primaries.
That the “Jewish outreach director” mentions his childhood near Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh as a CREDENTIAL is shameful.
That's good. The "American Coalition of Intelligent Rabbis" - or whatever the equivalent is - needs to hold a press conference and say just that.
Won't have much effect on the secular Jews Sanders is targeting, but it's good to remind them that - like "Catholic" pro-abortionists - they are spectacular hypocrites.
Only threat I see is real and from violent Bernie supporters whose pogroms would consist of rounding up conservatives and putting them in gulags. The occasional firing squad as well.
Trump’s in the running for the most pro-Jewish president in American history and the Marxists still pull this bull.
Projection. Sanders is, alas, a self hating “Jew” who long ago abandoned any kind of genuine Jewish life for his communistic false god. (And soroznazi never was Jewish. True he descended from a once - Jewish family but as soon as he reached an age of responsibility he started working with the WW2 Nazis who were rounding up the Jews for the murder camps and stealing their possessions, property. He later stated he has no regrets whatsoever for what he did. He has always denied any Jewish faith and affirmed his pure atheism. His entire life since has been dedicated to undermining Judeo- Christian values faith societies including U.K. USA Israel his native Hungary and more. Calling soroznazi Jewish is at least as misleading as calling Hitler a great peacemaker ). Just saying. There are Jewish and Christian believers. There are Jewish and Christian non- believers. And unfortunately then there are a few persons from Jewish and Christian lineage who both reject their ancestral faith and heritage And spend their whole lives attacking, undermining same in the worst, most evil possible ways imaginable. Enemies, not colleagues.
