SHANGHAI - The ability of the coronavirus to spread is getting stronger and infections could continue to rise, China’s National Health Commission said on Sunday, with more than 2,000 people globally infected and 56 in China killed by the disease.
National Health Commission Minister Ma Xiaowei, speaking at a press briefing, said knowledge of the virus was limited.
Ma said the incubation period for the coronavirus can range from one to 14 days, and that the virus is infectious during incubation, which was not the case with Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS), a coronavirus that originated in China and killed nearly 800 people globally in 2002 and 2003.
Containment efforts, which have thus far included transportation and travel curbs and the cancellation of big events, will be intensified, Ma told a crowded news briefing on the second day of the Lunar New Year holiday.
The virus, believed to have originated late last year in a seafood market in the central Chinese city of Wuhan that was illegally selling wildlife, has spread to Chinese cities including Beijing and Shanghai, as well as the United States, Thailand, South Korea, Japan, Australia, France and Canada.
Health authorities in Beijing urged people not to shake hands but instead salute using a traditional cupped-hand gesture. The advice was sent in a text message that went out to mobile phone users in the city on Sunday morning.

Yeah, that’s going to be ugly.
the Virus has an R-0 of 2.5 with a 95% confidence (1.4-3.8), with confirmed asymptomatic cases and I believe confirmed asymptomatic transmission. One notable case was a 10 year old with walking pneumonia.
With no built in immunity (due to this being a corona virus) it’s worse than Spanish Influenza.

Plagues have come out of China for thousands of years, long before humanity had the general ability to engineer bioweapons. The infamous 1918 Spanish Flu actually came out of China.
Communists, democrats, Soros himself are all susceptible to be infected. “Let’s see, I’ll start a pandemic that might kill my grandchildren to slow down Trump’s defense team”. Really, you really think that?
Throughout human history viruses have cropped up from time to time. This is nothing new and to blame someone for this is stupid.
Since many colds are caused by coronaviruses, I wonder how similar this novel virus is to the coronaviruses we frequently encounter? I also wonder, if a person does not get colds, will they also resist infection by the novel virus? i.e., how much cross-immunity exists between ordinary coronaviruses and this new emergent?
A few years ago, I would have been reading everything I could about this virus, looking at the RNA sequences, proteins, etc. But I just retired, so haven't been keeping up with the virology as much as I used to.
There is a faction of the left that believes that humans should be made extinct. A pandemic that kills off large numbers of humans would be just what this faction wants. So, the basis of the engineered virus conspiracy does have strong roots, they just aren't political.

The US had built this virus as shown in an article in 2015. Patient O had no contact with market. China has 2 bioweapons lab in area. Commie spies have tried to steal viruses.

So, your premise is the US government (or any one of the thousands of other hackish conspiracy theories) built a virus and released it in China, a virus that mainly functions as a souped up influenza, that generally kills the elderly with other health impediments?

No. I am giving you facts as we know them. I think it was an accident..and i do think it is a bioweapon.
People act like china couldn’t possibly have faulty construction of a bioweapons lab. I remind them Cdc shut down Fort Detrick in August for safety issues
