Four teachers from a Los Angeles-area school sued Delta Air Lines on Friday, saying they were exposed to jet fuel when a plane with engine trouble dumped its fuel over a densely populated area, including several schools, while making an emergency return to the airport.
At a news conference, the teachers described the fuel as drizzling down like raindrops with overwhelming fumes. They said their panicked students screamed and cried.
The plaintiffs could feel the fuel on their clothes, their flesh, their eyes and their skin, said the teachers attorney, Gloria Allred, who noted that her firm may add teachers or students to the lawsuit.

I’m unfortunately in So Cal so I have seen this press conference all day. Move over Merrill Steep, these “women” were well rehearsed / scripted by their Lawyers including (of course) Gloria Allred. Rather disgusting actually.
I knew if I read down far enough, I’d run into reason.
This was an emergency. They were trying to get people safely on the ground.
I don’t like that the teachers and kids were exposed to this, but in their way these people suffered a bad thing in the pursuit of saving lives.
This wasn’t an evil act on the part of the airline crew.
They should feel some pride for having helped those passengers.
Not everything that is uncomfortable or startling, has an evil cause.
Once again, $ dollar signs rule over reason.
Exactly. No sale on the faculty loungers bogus lies
YES!
Kerosene is basically the same as Jet-A with different additives and not as many regulations on purity. Diesel oil is 75% kerosene with different additives and a little “heavier” more “viscous” mix, think different weights of motor oil.
I still use Kerosene and Diesel all the time for washing off greasy parts. And I know you are not really suppose to these days, but in the past we would use rags soaked in the stuff to wash off our hands and skin. Now I use lanoline based hand cleaners. I personally have never had any reaction and I am someone who is sensitive to certain substances like fabric softener. As a former long time hazmat officer on a professional fire department I would definitely have to call BS on this extortion scheme.
Ha ha.
Didn’t take that ambulance chaser long. .....
I think Allred should be on the vexatious litigator list in California. She is always first to sue for any things....yeech.
“saying they were exposed to jet fuel ...”
You are ok now you losers. Take a shower.
Boeing plane
I would sue for being permanently disfigured
No kidding. Who knew exposure to a little jet fuel would have that effect on people.
Boeing planes. Lots of mechanical issues as of late.
Well, the pilot had a decision to make in very short time. I think he/she did the right thing. Many lives were saved, and it doesn’t appear that these ‘teachers’ suffered much, if they were able to lawyer-up so quickly.
These bitches basically got a light misting of charcoal lighter fluid.
Shoulda dumped it in more central locations, get some of the Shift off’n the sidewalks!
Damned funny! A true LOL!
Bah ! I bathed in JP-4 for years. Buncha wussies
If I had a kid in a California school I’d pay the airlines dump fuel on the schools. Whatever physical damage it does, at least it gets them the hell out of there.
My dad professionally restored high end cars, I wish I had a dime for the number of parts I washed in kerosene. I am 67 years old and am still here in good health.
