Safety concerns and a lack of access to menstruation products are among the issues trans and gender-nonconforming people face during "that time of the month."
When transgender model and activist Kenny Ethan Jones experienced his first period, he faced both physical and psychological pain. Initially, Jones, who had not yet come out as trans at the time, felt like he was losing control and didnt understand what was happening to his body. However, one thing was clear: He didnt feel like himself.
I didnt believe that having periods would be a part of my lived experience, Jones told NBC News. I felt isolated; everything about periods was tailored to girls, yet me, a boy, was experiencing this and nothing in the world documented that.
He currently experiences a wide range of challenges with his monthly bleeding, especially when it comes to getting his hands on menstrual hygiene products.
Having a period already causes me a lot of [gender] dysphoria, but this dysphoria becomes heightened when I have to shop for a product that is labeled as womens health and in most cases, is pretty and pink, Jones explained.
Some transgender and gender-nonconforming people who menstruate, like Jones, say when the products are categorized as womens products, they can feel alienated and may even avoid purchasing them altogether.
Ive definitely seen a positive shift with the discussion around women experiencing periods, but the stigma towards trans men, nonbinary and intersex individuals having them is still alive and well, said Jones, who gained attention in 2018 when he was the face of a U.K.-based menstruation companys ad campaign. People are still reluctant to the idea that its not only women that experience periods.

Yeah that's gotta hurt.
So I do, LOL.
That song itself has a very nice melody (for Alice Cooper), but I do remember being surprised and a little disturbed at the title.
Maybe if they dyed his menstruated blood blue this would help.
What planet are these idiots on?
We have become a very sick and delusional society.
Exactly. We need to stop focusing on curing cancer and Alzheimers and work on better addadictomies so these new dudes get full pee pee replacements. Where are our priorities? Cant have guys feeling bad buying cute packages of tampons.
Completely ignorant question here:
If a woman can BE a man by saying they are one, cant they have their vagina BE a penis by similar verbal magic??
I have to make sure my chart is correct here. Is this a woman to man transmission job?
So they still have a uterus, fallopian tubes, ovaries, etc.
And once a month, nature dictates they flush their uteri to make way for a potential pregnancy when an egg is released from the ovary.
Science cannot stop this without removing said organs, so the woman who now thinks of herself as a man, even though she still has all the female organs listed above, still feels pain when nature flushes her uterus.
And what are we supposed to do for her/him/it/they?
There is no such thing as a transgender man, only mutilated homosexual transvestite women.
One weird schtick.
This “is national news” at NBC?
No Body Cares, NBC. 2% of the population yields to same sex desire. A smaller subset of that group wishes it had the body of the opposite sex. A smaller subset of that is female wishing to be male. A smaller subset of that is fertile.
Talk about mountains out of mole hills of personal issues.
What is/was this freak at birth?
Save up your money and have a hysterectomy. Menstruation problem solved.
Too bad that won’t solve all of your problems.
Yup.
A menstruating man is a defective human that should be exposed to winter cold till hypothermia corrects the defect
A woman.
Praying for them might be the best solution.
In some ways, I hold the non transgender folks who aid and abet this lunacy more at fault.
Not that it is important but I just can’t get it straight. Is a transgender male a she-he or a he-she?
