Virginia Democrats have full control of the state government, and they are making the most of it. Less than two days after Virginia opened the 2020 legislative session, newly empowered lawmakers voted to pass a total ban on guns at the state capitol and legislative office buildings. Previously, those with a valid concealed handgun permit were allowed to bring a gun into the Capitol. Weapons were banned only in the Senate gallery and the governor's office. "Our focus is to keep everybody safe," said Democratic House speaker Eileen Filler-Corn. "These are policies and rules that should have passed a long, long time ago."
Democratic House majority leader Charneile Herring claimed the sudden policy decision by the Joint Rules Committee, just a handful of people, was at the request of the Capitol Police. "I think there are times when we sort of have to trust what our law enforcement officers are telling us," she said. When asked by reporters, after the rushed and less than transparent committee meeting, the Capitol Police's Col. Anthony Pike said he had made no recommendations on whether guns should be banned, only how to implement the ban. GOP delegate Kirk Cox called Herring's attempt to put the onus on the Capitol Police "a deliberate misrepresentation, there's just no way around that," he said.

It wasn’t VA voters who swung the borders wide open decades ago. It wasn’t VA voters who grew fed gov to massive size and attracted massive numbers of Democrat voters to Nova. VA has become a gun grabbing blue state precisely because of policies support by both political parties. Failure to address those issues will only make things worse.
No cop is going to side with these legislative idiots. Most of them are gun owners as well. Richmond is a red pimple in Virginia that is not in a gun sanctuary country. If gun owners rose up and brought their guns to Richmond, you would see the legislature running for their lives. Take over the capital in a bloodless coup.
I don’t think the normal VA voters can out vote NOVA and Tidewater any longer. Those areas appear to own the state, with it being a deep purple at best.
Correct. VA has reached a tipping point due to open borders and a massive fed gov attracting Dem leaning voters. The GOP is exactly as culpable as the Democrats for that. Until the bipartisan nature of this betrayal is addressed by GOP voters nothing will get better and in fact more red states will be in danger.

I don’t think you realizes how much the suburbans have changed. In a generation we’ve gone from most boys having a BB gun/.22 to almost all boys not having one. “Bringing guns to the capitol” is a terrible idea and just the sort of theatrical event the gun grabbers would welcome.

I agree and with the mass migrations from blue states to red states other states are in trouble. A lot of them bring their leftist mindset with them, despite acknowledging the failing leftist garbage they are running away from turning them slowly to purple until a critical mass is reached turning them blue.

That 'intelligence' will never see the light of day nor stand up to scrutiny because they're either embellishing heresay, or creating it out of thin air, all just to throw their weight around as a show of force. They want a confrontation. I think CoonMan and his stooges want to establish Iron Fist rule right out of the gate, and what better way than to essentially disarm the populace first, by fiat or force. You can be sure they have their chess game planned to outmaneuver the court system in the interim. They all need to be dragged out of the Capitol feet first and face-down, and I don't give a hoot in hell if it's by the Feds, or a pissed off mob of good ol' mountain boys. This could be Ground Zero and the closest we've come to open domestic hostilities in 155 years.

The DemonRat presidential candidate has won in Virginia since 2008. The state legislature stayed Republican by a slim majority until now.

The only way Communists can advance their attack on freedom is to lie to the American people. There has been no problem with individuals carrying guns in the Richmond Capitol so the deceitful radicals blame their new ban on the Capitol Police. All the other bills they have cued up will be propagandized in the same way to the people with lies.
