In the wake of the airstrike President Donald Trump ordered to take out top Iranian Gen. Qassem Soleimani, some in the liberal media have gone over the top in attacking the president over the order while treating the murderous Iranian regimes reaction to Soleimanis death with deference.
Aside from largely downplaying and glossing over Soleimanis indisputable history as a brutal thug enforcer for the repressive Iranian mullahs, the media has also seemed to take glee in highlighting the massive crowds that turned out estimated to number in the hundreds of thousands, if not millions for several days of funeral processions in honor of the general.
The media likely keyed in on the huge Iranian crowds as a juvenile way to take a shot at Trump in reference to his known attentiveness to crowd sizes, dating back to his inauguration but also whenever he holds a campaign rally.
But one Iranian journalist and womens rights activist named Masih Alinejad wrote an Op-Ed in The Washington Post, published Monday, that contained a simple yet important message for the U.S. media and those who pay attention to it: Dont take what youre seeing at face value.
The main crux of Alinejads argument is that the Iranian regime is well known for its dishonest propaganda and that the American people especially the media should be skeptical of the notion that all of the people seen in the massive crowds were there of their own free will or were actually mourning the death of Soleimani.
Without doubt, Soleimani had support among hard-liners and regime loyalists. The regime is not taking any chances, though, she wrote, sharing anecdotal reports she had received from Iranian citizens of people being forced to attend the funeral processions, including government workers, students and others.
Alinejad said stores had been ordered closed by the government, free rides were provided to attend the processions and schoolchildren were being instructed to write essays in praise of Soleimani or were told to cry for his loss if they were unable to write yet.
Alinejad further noted that the media in the Islamic Republic is heavily controlled. Public gatherings are allowed only if they are pro-regime. Critics are jailed or shot.

"The point? There is a substantial portion of the Iranian people who are pleased that Trump took out Soleimani but nevertheless felt pressured to attend his funeral processions."
Continued from the source:
“Alinejad chastised the Western media for being properly skeptical of state-organized events in places like North Korea and Russia while at the same time displaying unwarranted gullibility toward the official version of events coming out of Iran.”
“She also lamented separately on social media how she herself has tried to inform her colleagues in the Western media such as CNN, The New York Times and even The Washington Post itself about the truth of what is occurring in Iran, to little avail. Yet, those same outlets have had no problem broadcasting all of the manufactured details of a state-run funeral procession for a mass-murdering terrorist.”
But, Alinejad. Don’t you understand? It happened on TV. And whatever happens on TV is true, unless it’s Joe Biden bragging about his crimes. And whatever doesn’t happen on TV never happened, unless it’s Trump colluding with Russia.
There are 10% who love regime and hate America and 90% who hate regime and hate America.
Watch this short video clip. This Iranian guy is great at explaining the turnout to a reporter.

Maybe FOX NEWS will stop broadcasting their handsome portraits of this monstrous killer, as recently as yesterday. They didnt give Mother Theresa that much loving treatment for days after her death. And perhaps they can explain their fulsome coverage of Mike Lees nasty comments blasting the President for assassinating this terrorist leader.
I, for one, need a lot more convincing that whether or not Iranians hate the regime determines whether or not they'd resist a foreign invader kicking the regime out and then hanging around as occupiers for twelve to twenty years.

Most of his most ardent supporters were in the DNC.
Our press is so stupid they fall for Soros 'bought and paid for' fake protest - so of course they'd fall for this crap. The Washington Post probably 'feels' the women in North Korea really are 'crying for joy' when the see the chief thug...
Thank you. +1000.
Never again.

Note the above report is not a loner, it was repeated in several news outlets.
And are all these people in on the hoax you say they are playing out?

Seriously, post some on-the-ground information from Iran, Iraq, Europe that backs up your assertions. People want to hear your sources and want to see how you assemble information to draw your conclusions. Or is it just hot vacuous air?. If it is, that's Ok. You have a right to burp, belch, fart, drool as you wish from your keyboards. If you can't back it up. it's assumed that's what you're doing.
The press only do the bidding of the Democrat Party. She should have chided the Democrats, severely. It would have had a greater impact, and by extension it would have encompassed the press.
Interesting that they had the procession go down this tiny street...so the crowd would look bigger...
Yesterday’s display of the media and AOC plus three was disgusting.
Backroom Intel is filtering through social media that Suleimani had one of the specially configured secure Blackberrys to communicate with the Awan network and DNC connected spies.
> “he should have chided the Democrats”
In general, we will not hear foreigners inject their views in our party politics. Some do understand the internecine nature of American politics but it’s not a priority as they have their own internecine situation more dire.
My nephew in Iraq did get some flowers... but mostly he and his fellow Marines were given gifts of food and tea.
