AIN ASSAD AIR BASE, Iraq — Iran struck back Tuesday for the killing of a top Iranian general last week, firing a series of ballistic missiles at two Iraqi bases housing U.S. troops in a major escalation.
Iranian state TV reported the strikes were in retaliation for the killing of Revolutionary Guard Gen. Qassem Soleimani, whose death Friday prompted angry calls to avenge his slaying.
A U.S. official said there were no immediate reports of American casualties.

I tend to agree. For one thing, the sanctions need to be enforced.
People forget that the sanctions being imposed on Iran include more than just economic sanctions - there are also sanctions against interfering in Iraq and other neighboring countries.
These sanctions are being violated as we speak and there needs to be a response from the the US for them to be effective. Unlike Obama, President Trump knows this.
He’d love to leave the ME completely, but the sanctions are working, and some military presence in the region is needed to enforce them.
Could be. But we were all awake yesterday afternoon as well. So we will soon see.

That is what my Dad would do. Mom would let him know what I had done when he got home. He would wait until dinner was cooked, served, eaten, and clean up was done. Seemed like a million years.
I’d prefer he be on time. Unless there are last minute details currently unfolding, there are millions who need to hear from him, and are working, and don’t have all the time in the world.
Plus, 22 years in the military taught me to be prompt and arrive when I said I would.
I think he should do exactly that. Point out the impotence of their attack and laugh at them

Making Iran wait and wonder will drive the Mullahs nuts... they know they can’t trust anyone... that someone or someones - sold out Soleimani. And that same group might sell them out next.
