The upcoming Virginia General Assembly is set to vote on a wide range of gun control bills that Gov. Ralph Northam (D) is pushing now that Democrats hold majorities in the statehouse.
Trying to capitalize on that momentum, Delegate-elect Dan Helmer (D), an Iraq and Afghanistan veteran, announced on Monday he is introducing three more gun control bills to "reduce gun violence in Virginia."
HB567 will implement a ban on indoor shooting ranges in private buildings with "large numbers of employees" because of "recent workplace shootings." The bill would ban the ranges if it is in a building that has more than 50 employees working in said building. Indoor ranges would be required to maintain a log of each shooter's name, phone number, address, and the law-enforcement agency where such user is employed and the indoor range verifies each shooter's identity and address by requiring all users to present a government-issued identification card.

Because the criminals must be really intimidated, eh?
It will also require ranges to employ 51 people.
” Delegate-elect Dan Helmer (D), an Iraq and Afghanistan veteran...”
And all-around piece of commie s***.
Idiot.............I don't care if he is an Iraq and Afghanistan veteran, he's still an idiot..................
1946 Athens, TENNESSEE. Surround the governors mansion and open fire.
Worked fine back then and completely legal.
“will implement a ban on indoor shooting ranges in private buildings with “large numbers of employees” because of “recent workplace shootings.”
And.....what does one have to do with the other again?
I seriously hope a bunch of conservatives didnt vote for this tool because he was a veteran.
Seems like he is in a hurry to see all guns are confiscated during his lifetime so he can reap the benefits of being part of the Rat dictatorship he so desires to see happen.
For a while, the media was calling Buttigieg an “Afghanistan veteran” too. They leave out the bit where he was an anti-war protester, though.
Maybe someone can enlighten me, but I can’t find a single instance where an indoor gun range customer took a/his/her weapon to another business in the same building and then shot anybody or at anything beyond the targets in the range.
I don’t understand the value of this legislation.
How about we ban shooting Virginian tigers from the back of an Indian elephant? It would have as much value.
Tyrant says what? They better take a look at the Great Seal of Virginia. “Thus always to tyrants”!
That's all they are really after... for now
I dont understand the value of this legislation.
Obviously you are not a liberal, then. Liberal rules are simple: Do SOMETHING. It doesnt matter if it makes any sense or addresses the problem. Just DO SOMETHING. Then feel good about yourself because you cared and you did something.

Where is the proof that indoor shooting ranges result in employees shooting people in rage incidents?
He’s a West Point and Oxford graduate.
Also Armor officer.
He and Northam show a disturbing trend: officers who side with Statist oppression.
It may be that they are simply symptoms of a larger problem: a standing military that believes only they should have weapons.
Teaching respect for the Constitution in the service academies and the Federal military should be re-instituted.
Because of this and the volunteer military, we now have the standing army that the Founders were concerned about. The disconnect between the society they are supposed to be part of and the organization they actually were brought up in is so wide now, they might as well be Hessian mercenaries.
Well, it COULD happen.
The real reason for the legislation. It would be nice if Virginia placed the same requirements on the polling places voting these imbeciles into office.
I wouldn’;t be a bit surprised if at some point he makes a comment- perhaps caught o n a hot mike where he says “It’s time to line gun owners up against the wall”
Guess you forgot that “Put them against the wall!” doesn’t mean what we thought it did. Just ask grrrrrreta. :-)
