House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and other top Democrats are calling on President Trump and the top Senate Republican to allow John Bolton to testify in the Senate impeach trial after the former national security adviser stated Monday he would comply if subpoenaed.
Pelosi equipped with the new Bolton statement said Trump and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) have "run out of excuses" and that the Republican-controlled Senate must seek his testimony about the Trump administration's contacts with Ukraine.
"They must allow key witnesses to testify, and produce the documents Trump has blocked, so Americans can see the facts for themselves. The Senate cannot be complicit in the President's cover-up," the Speaker tweeted, using the hashtag "DefendOurDemocracy."

Because I suspect that what Bolton has to say would offer the Democrats no comfort, indeed would have blown them out of the water. That is why they didn’t seek to speak to him before. They don’t trust him!

bolton is no leftwing impeachment promoter.
He said what everyone will say....... On receipt of a subpoena from the Senate he will appear as directed.
I will amplify that statement with the notice to the speaker that I will also comply with a Senate subpoena and appear.
Caveat: If the subpoena is actually served and the President claims my testimony is restricted by executive priviledge I will not appear

He means a REAL subpoena that has gone through the court system...which the democrats will not do . They issue fake congressional subpoenas which have no force of law. This story is slanted to make it appear that Bolton is eager to testify but the White House won't let him. He can do whatever he wants. He's not employed by the White House. He WILL NOT testify UNLESS they subpoena him with a REAL subpoena. Just like everyone else
I got the feeling they were a bit nervous that he was a setup, so they decided against him. And now they are bluffing.

That's exactly right. The dems will not issue REAL subpoenas because that means they have to actually be subject to the legal system...which in all liklihood will end up with the courts saying "no, they do not have to testify". They would rather keep this farce going.

Do we know for sure what he would say? It could be that down deep he is a patriot and will do the right thing in the end.
Some disgruntled employees do have consciences, and when the rubber hits the road they are able to overlook slights when they realize it’s for the greater good.
The Dems are simply showing their colors....all they had to do was send him a subpoena.

The Executive can and should block testimony in a fishing expedition. If Bolton wants to be a whistleblower, then he can go that route. But this is my uneducated opinion.
and I want Joe Biden and his crack addict son to testify..will you allow that to happen Pelosi or do they have something to hide. If Bolton testifies that’s fine I have no issue with that, but I want EVERYONE to testify, including the Ukrainian Prosecutor who Biden got fired

Personally that's what I think too. Bolton will go in and have nothing to say, which is the reason why he is so willing to testify. The man is not stupid, he may not like Trump all that much but he is smart enough to know that he would persona-non-grata in the Republican party if he testified against Trump, and it's not like a Democrat President would ever appoint him to any position, he is arguable more of a paleo-con war hawk than just about any Republican. In fact the reason he left the Trump administration was he felt the President wasn't hawkish enough.
Yeah I think so too..after reading his tweet about Soleimani which is something he himself wanted I think its all good..if he wants to testify, that’s fine..as long as Schiff, Biden, and his crack addict son testify too
