Maybe Trumps critics are just as wrong as theyve been every other time
Everybody knows Donald Trump is going to start a war. His critics have been saying so since his first year in office remember the war with North Korea they predicted right after Trump tweeted about unleashing fire and fury on the Little Rocket Man? That war didnt happen. Nor did an insurgency break out when President Trump moved the US embassy in Israel to Jerusalem, an act that the Trump haters were certain would incite waves of violence and unquenchable turmoil. But maybe the third times the charm maybe the killing of Gen. Qasem Soleimani, leader of the Quds Force division of Irans Revolutionary Guard, in a US airstrike in Iraq will finally give the presidents detractors the war theyve been anticipating.
Or maybe not maybe the critics are just as wrong as theyve been every other time: about wars that Trump didnt start, about collusion with Russia that didnt happen, about the crash of Americas economy the list goes on. The president should be reassured to have enemies who are so reliably wrong.
Irans Islamic revolutionary regime might well want revenge. But is avenging Soleimani worth risking the regimes existence? If killing him was an act of war, is this a war Iran is prepared to fight and win? How, exactly? Iran couldnt win a war with Saddam Husseins Iraq in the 1980s. Contrary to what neoconservatives might want you to think, Iran has not become a military superpower akin to Nazi Germany in the 30-odd years since then. Also contrary to what neoconservatives sometimes say, Iran is not irrational to the point of being suicidal. But some panicky anti-war supporters of President Trump have adopted this implausible view of Tehran. ..

China and the Norks are interested observers of what’s going on. It’s the boiling over of frustration in the regular populace that they’re worried about. Could get contagious. I’m looking at Cuba/Venezuela.
The picture of the Shah’s family is not different than many Iranian families at the time. He’s wearing a modest suit and his wife a modest dress. It is not a display of royal wealth. There is no jewelry, no crowns, no royal insignia. It’s common attire the people wore back then when they dressed up in public.
Iran was not a sh*thole before 1979. It was better than oil-rich Venezuela before Hugo Chavez. People had it good economically, medically, educationally. It was much better than Saudi Arabia or Iraq.
The purpose of the post is to inform that Iranians want to rid themselves of the hellhole they’ve been put under. They are ready to overthrow the Regime as hundreds of them last month gave their lives in protest. That’s not a small thing.
The unrest in Iran is not a small thing but we don’t hear about it in our fake news channels.
The truth of the unrest is getting out via social media. Each day more and more accounts are coming out describing how the Iranian people are ready for another revolution only this time to throw out the Regime and all its network.
The problem they have is they are unarmed. That can be addressed.
Your midshipmen were lucky to get out. The population was eventually put on ice meaning they couldn’t travel far without creating red flags.
Iran has been at war with us, as in U.S., and with the civilized world since the mullahs took power in 1979. The only difference after this weeks action is whether they stay in the shadows or come onto the field in broad daylight. They are well-advised to stay within those dark, safe shadows.
That Iran can hurt us is beyond question. Thanks to Obummer, Iran either has nukes, will soon have nukes, or at least they have enough refined nuclear material to make a stack of contaminant-scattering dirty bombs, not to mention uncountable sleepers. Have no doubt, they CAN hurt us.
But on the plus side, their own people can hurt them. Obummer screwed up a glorious opportunity to support Iranian rebels who wanted to dump the Islamic regime and return to civilization. Those seeds remain in place.
Could Trump reignite that Persian rebellion? Could the Donald arrange for a few hundred crates of AKs (with ammo) to mysteriously appear in Tehran, like Obummers pallets ofcash? Does Trump have good enough relations with the CIA to pull off such a Secret Santa gift? We CAN hurt them, too!

You are on it! Those are relevant questions to ask. Should the Iranian REGIME have an internal civil war waged against them by their own people, they will capitulate.
But social media is abuzz that the Iranian REGIME is working hand-in-hand with US Deep State and globalist groups to make trouble wherever, whenever. Many believe it’s not the Iranian REGIME acting alone. There are other groups with funds, arms, comms, resources that back the Regime’s proxies.
It means we are FINALLY shooting back in this war that has been going on for a LONG time now.
But of course, Iran declared war on the U.S. years ago...
444 days...
If they are smart they will pick option B.
I have seen few signs that they are smart.
So a couple of more thumps are probably going to be in their future.
...or just go home and kick the dog!
If one of the Kardashians got interested in it... maybe.
Gordi is smart. They look for things to make them go.
;^)
And if Iran should choose to escalate the conflict to a near war footing or worse, the U.S. would be justified in openly supporting their overthrow by way of a popular uprising (are you listening, Turkey?)
Thoughtful post and well stated.
There is a story about that a while ago the Ayatollah declined some significant international action (my memory not too clear) and Suleymani told him to act or he would overthrow him in a coup - and the Ayatollah acted. It would seem impossible to overstate the importance of Suleymani. D@mn the torpedoes, Prez Trump - full speed ahead! You have just cut across their rudder...
Beautiful post. Yes, one only has to go to Twitter and check out #ThxPOTUS4Suleimani or #FREEIRAN or one of the anti-government protest hashtags they are using to see the massive amount of support our President’s actions truly have. Contrast that with the “official” “Down with America” videos in the lackluster low-energy demonstrations the MSM are showing...pretending that Iranians are angry with America.
You are right. Social media is lit up with celebration by Iranians knowing Suleimani is dead. And all we hear from our fake news information channels is that the Iranian People are chanting Death to America.

We have a terrible propaganda problem in the USA. The old news media was nearly bankrupt in 2008-2009 because of competing forms of news outlets like Talk Radio and FR. They ended up being bought out and are now owned by six oligarchs many of whom are foreign based.
But despite the attempt to hide news from the American People, the truth is getting through and I think it’s the same for the Iranian people inside and outside of Iran.
I have many Iranian and Iranian-American friends and none of them are fond of the current regime.
“Obamas previous term would have been 8 years of appeasing and apologizing to Hitler. “
I never knew that Obama was once a white British Prime Minister named Neville Chamberlain!
Yeah, there are parallels. Obama signed a deal with Iran, knowing they would probably break it. But it was just getting them to sign it that was the important thing, apparently. They could still work on a nuclear bomb and still fund terrorism around the globe. But now we can be friends, according to Chamberlain... I mean Obama.
We cannot wage this war in a defensive spirit. As our power and our resources are fully mobilized, we shall carry the attack against the enemy--we shall hit him and hit him again wherever and whenever we can reach him.
We must keep him far from our shores, for we intend to bring this battle to him on his own home grounds.
American armed forces must be used at any place in all the world where it seems advisable to engage the forces of the enemy. In some cases these operations will be defensive, in order to protect key positions. In other cases, these operations will be offensive, in order to strike at the common enemy, with a view to his complete encirclement and eventual total defeat.
The cranking of the cranks of the cranky in Iran will result in *no* retaliation (nothing of much consequence, anyway) and that will undermine support for the regime, even among its brain-dead pro-jihad supporters. The best-case scenario of the Merkel-Putin meeting will be, putting pressure on Iran to start to comply (for the very first time) with the quite-BS nuke agreement. Capping that terrorist made a lot of dominoes tip, exposed a lot of foreign vulnerabilities, and undermined diplomatic alliances which were/are against our interests.
