An NYPD officer was assaulted in a wild confrontation caught on camera in Brooklyn Heights. Police say 40-year-old Steven Haynes punched an officer after being asked to leave the middle of an intersection where he was sitting.
The attack took place near a Bank of America on Court and Livingston Streets.
Eventually, more officers are seen moving in to help remove the suspect who is now facing a long list of charges, including assault on a police officer and resisting arrest.
Despite those charges, Haynes is reportedly already back out on the street, according to the Police Benevolent Association.

I watched that video...it looked like that other cop was just trying to grab the guy (I don’t get that-he was assaulting a fellow cop!) but once it looked like the guy was trying to reach the gun, the guy began whacking him with the nightstick.
This to me is another case, if I interpret that correctly, of a police officer in peril because of the restrictions on action and trying to avoid a PR nightmare of having a cop whacking a guy with a nightstick on camera.
It would have been perfectly justified, but not the way the Left operates.
Old school he should have been wheeled out of court.
I know it’s fiction, but it seems like EVERY episode of ‘Blue Bloods’ has them trying to deal with the PR ramifications of a cop’s action. Or inaction.
The cop wielding the nightstick was a woman. Was doing little good....My gut said she knew the perp....and didn’t want to hurt him. Not one good whack in the bunch.
Woman cannot generate the power of a man. She probably was doing the best that she could. You’d be surprised just how protected you are from Billy clubs when you wear a few sweatshirts and a jacket.
I didn’t notice that, thought it was just an overweight cop. I thought the cop was just being timid. It didn’t occur to me that it might be a woman who physically wasn’t up to the task, or even that she knew the perp.
Sigh. Well, society has made these choices, we will live with them.

I’m guessing one likely outcome from this is that some perps will never make it to the “bail” hearing...
I had a thing against cops for much of my younger life, but I wised up and found that in most cases, they are simply trying to perform a tough job, and if you don’t give them cause, they often don’t have the time or energy to mess with you.
Part of growing up, I guess.
But after I saw what happened around this country with politicians and “Black Lives Matter” types in big American blue cities like Washington, New York, Baltimore, etc...I can see how that would be on a cop’s mind all the time.
And they know, in some places, there is zero support from above. There are few things harder than doing a difficult job knowing your own people who are supposed to support you will just as easily stick a knife into you for political purposes.
And they released a woman without bail who attacked 3 Jewish women and then she went and assaulted another woman and she was released without bail again.
And DeBlasio blames Trump for attacks against Jews.
Female cops don’t have the upper body strength to really hurt a bad guy trying to hurt the cops. It’s not a matter of knowing someone, it’s just physiology vs political correctness. PC wins, lives lose.
There should be NO female cops, it’s stupid to think they can do the job.
My gut says she knew the perp.

Because weak females are now in all police forces in large numbers is yet another reason to always conceal carry. It is also another sign that leftists want you dead and they do not care how you die.
By weakening our police forces, they know the criminal element of society will kill more people. Murdering leftists are very much ok with this result and also, use it as a way to further enhance their power.
