That’s what I was fearing, few if any symptoms in early stages, or are easily misdiagnosed or patients don’t realize they should seek medical help.

Another friend’s mother had some “stomach pains” but she was ecstatic that she was finally losing weight, “without even trying!” Again, dead in 4 weeks. Hardly time to settle the briefist

I wish the congressman would have retired so he could have spent more time with his family.

I have thoughts about Lewis. They’re not nice.

My wife is stage I-b. There is no difference in the treatment regimen, except my wife got a Whipple, and he won’t. The chemo is long and horrible.

Six months of some of the worst poison and it gets a “good” diagnosis down to a 60% recurrence rate. The 5 year Seer rate has doubled in the past few years. It’s up to 9%. Fewer than 1 in 10 will make it to the next election cycle (2024.)

I would not wish this on anyone. For the family it’s just devastating.

Yes. This sounds similar to Trebek. Steve Jobs was different. RGB’s is like Trebek.

The survival rate depends on the treatment, the reaction, and whether or not they can do surgery.

A full treatment of chemo, a resected tumor with clean margins will get you up to 5 years for 1/3 of the patients.

I am in the same place FRiend. You ever want to rail against this monster, just PM me. It’s fun trying to figure out what we can eat. It is literally a crap-shoot.

It doesn’t present with symptoms. If you talk to people who catch it early, it is usually a fluke. My wife had unspecific gastric issues, and they caught a blood level that was out of the norm. If she were not having regular blood tests for another “non threatening” condition, it would have been months.

And men generally ignore the symptoms because they ignore the “little signs.”

At 79, most people would be retired. But for most patients under 65 you HAVE to keep working to afford the insurance. In my wife’s case she is too young for Medicare. We go off short term disability on Feb 2. We have 30 days to figure out our insurance situation. This will not end well.

Yeah, I was following that whole misunderstanding too, as I watched it go off the rails. I’ve tried straightening out similar misunderstandings in the past, but to no avail.

Unfortunately, those most prone to misunderstandings in the first place, are also the least likely to understand any attempts to straighten them out!

If he stepped down and removed himself so he couldn’t do anymore damage, I’d be inclined to maybe wish him well.

But he won’t. So I won’t. I’m not going to virtue signal and “pray for his health”. He’s going to stay there for whatever Nancy Pelosi needs him to do.

This guy, Cummings, and others like him did a lot of damage to this Country and our people.

So yeah... No further comment.

My friend was comparatively lucky. He lived for 2 years after diagnosis. He had a “Whipple” procedure which the surgeon thought was a success.
