The congresswoman has been listening closely to her constituents who she described as being "definitely engaged" on impeachment, both for and against.
Slotkin needs more time and more context. Over the weekend she plans to look through all those hundreds of pages of reports related to the inquiry, as well as look back at the documents from the impeachment proceedings against Presidents Nixon and Clinton.
Hemmer noted how the impeachment inquiry has "zero Republican support." Slotkin admitted she "doesn't like it" because "bipartisanship is something I really believe in." She said her work both as a CIA officer and a soldier has taught her that "sometimes you have to make calls" not based on polling, but "on integrity."
"If this is the end of my political career, at least I'm doing what I think is right," she said.
Slotkin defeated incumbent Republican Rep. Mike Bishop in November 2018 in a district that had been held by Republicans for nearly two decades. Thirty other Democrats are in a similar boat, with only two willing to come out so far to say they're not voting for impeachment.
Slotkin has been having plenty of tough conversations with her colleagues because "short of a declaration of war," a number of them think "this is the most serious vote they'll ever take."
"A few of us are trying to be thoughtful," she said. "For me this is deadly serious."
The transcript of the phone call between President Trump and Ukrainian President Zelensky was the reason she came out in support of an inquiry. She admitted that while it was "normal" for a U.S. president to ask foreign governments to do things, she discovered at least an "inclination" that Trump wasn't just looking out for the interests of Americans when he asked Ukraine to investigate the Bidens, but for his own personal gain.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi told reporters on Thursday that she would not be whipping or pressuring Trump-district Democrats into voting with the majority.
Slotkin said that after talking with her husband, her team and her constituents over the weekend, she will make the call "before close of business on Monday."
They’re all bottom feeders anyway.
She will.
“A few of us are trying to be thoughtful,”
She won’t last long in Dim circles.
What more does she need to see and read and hear?
It’s all been ‘litigated’ and discussed in the hearings, and the ‘evidence’ is severely lacking for impeachment.
She likely will vote for impeachment. So, she needs to stop playing games and do what she is being told by Pelosi to do. Pelosi has already told her that she’s got nothing to lose, and that her vote will be greatly appreciated. Losing her seat is not as important as voting to impeach the president.
She said she voted for going forward based on the phone call.
That’s all we need to know about her.
#### her kick her out.
The new real transparency in government by trump has exposed just how transparent the Democrat Narrative really is. I read the transcript and endured a few hours of the impeachment inquisition.
All Democrats must be removed from office immediately.
Morons are not issued drivers licences for public safety.
She said her work both as a CIA officer

My rep. Nancy Spanberger is a CIA drone as well.
Her first name is really Abigail, but all her votes say Nancy.
Lie.
Slotkin needs more time and more context.
Lie.
"A few of us are trying to be thoughtful,"
Lie.
Nancy Pelosi told reporters on Thursday that she would not be whipping or pressuring Trump-district Democrats into voting with the majority.
Mack Daddy Lie.
She’s CIA, she’s trained in deception.
Pelosi lies IMO. The Dems know how to enforce party discipline and if any Dems vote against impeachment, it will be because Pelosi has given them permission so they can avoid the wrath of their district voters.
She's in the wrong place for that now then.
A Democrat says her decision will be based “on integrity.”
If she had any integrity, she wouldn’t be a Democrat.
I really wonder how many of our elected officials have been elected by the voters.
I kind of think that a lot of elections might involve one citizen who hopes to become an elected official and one CIA operative who has been designated as the person who will be announced as the winner.
She likely wasn’t going to survive with Trump on the ballot, but she already voted to move this crap forward, to think she can save her seat now if Pelosi allows her a NAY vote on the actual articles is comical.
You signed your political death certificate the minute you voted to move this #SEINFELDIMPEACHMENT forward in the first place....
All of you fools did.
Democrats will fall into line for the same reason that the Confederate soldiers made Pickett’s Charge in the Civil War despite the fact that almost every one of them knew it would be a massacre. It would take more courage to tell Speaker Pelosi that this was a huge mistake than to go along with the herd and face the consequences in November.
Republicans taking back the House in November is not a sure thing this far out and the Dems may be banking on the short attention span of moderate voters. Its a bet they may be willing to make especially if they can run ads showing that Trump is an impeached president.
Republicans must go on full offense against these purple districts and make sure that they support attractive freshmen candidates in purple districts where Republicans are retiring or we may be looking a House driven impeachments for the foreseeable future.
In the case of Spanberger (D-CIA) both parties teamed up to remove Dave Brat (the best representative in the country) in retribution for his toppling of Eric Cantor the night before the amnesty vote (which saved America, if only temporarily).
Trump’s election gives us more time, but WE have to drain the Congressional swamp, President Trump cannot do that.
ether way, she will be gone...
I guess that explains her need to study the situation.
