While several of Virginia’s congresscritters are calling for Second Amendment Sanctuary counties in the state to be stripped of state funds or to have the National Guard brought in to enforce new gun control laws, Virginia Governor Ralph Northam is instead offering veiled threats of “consequences” for sheriffs in Second Amendment Sanctuary counties unless they enforce whatever gun control bills he signs into law.
When asked by a reporter if local governments would face retaliation for declaring themselves Second Amendment sanctuaries, Northam responded, “There’s not going to be retaliation. That’s not what I’m about. I’m about making Virginia safer.”
Northam continued, “If we have constitutional laws on the books and law enforcement officers are not enforcing those laws on the books, then there are going to be consequences, but I’ll cross that bridge if and when we get to it.”
Northam did not offer specifics on what the potential consequences would be.

Virginia is a lot more conservative than people realize. This sucks and I bet a lot of Virginians who can are seriously considering moving.
A couple years ago one could find online bio’s for LE in the state. Doesn’t exist any more.

The County Sheriffs have simply stated that they will not enforce a law the violates the Constitution!
Basically telling the gov “COME AND TAKE THEM”.

That's what scares me. If he does find a group to act as enforcers, and they go around to start confiscating weapons, who will that be and what will their tactics be? Will they fire upon law abiding citizens?
Proud to be the daughter of a 29th Infantry Division, 116th Battalion Staff Sergeant patriot (now deceased) who joined the VANG before WWII and then was absorbed into US Army; first wave of troops to hit Omaha Beach on D-Day. I just know he’d like to be alive to “counsel” with Gov. Blackface/Full Term Abortion. The gun confiscation, or withholding of funds, might fly in the DC beltway. I hope they try this in other, perhaps more sane, areas of the State.
If he puts together a goon squad then the answer is yes. They will argue (1) these aren't law abiding citizens or they'd comply with this gun grab law and (2) they fear for their safety so they had to kill every person they saw. There will be plenty of psycho leftist goons who will jump at the chance to sign up for such a jackboot patrol.

As long as Trump is President, he can federalize the National Guard, taking it out of the Governor’s control. Eisenhower and Kennedy did so in the school desegregation period, preventing state level National Guard units from blocking school intervention.
