The FBI knew the Steele dossier was a partisan financed document, and that was the document used to obtain and renew the FISA warrant. That fact alone should demonstrate in a documented was that there were partisan underpinnings of the entire investigation.

I don't know what you mean by underpinnings. To the extent that Carter Page was part of the investigation, yes, but the FBI started the investigation on the flimsy tip from the Australians.

The Russians have tried to manipulate our elections for decades. This is nothing new. Nor, in the case of the 2016 elections was it exceptional. Nor is it unique to Russia, nor is it unique to foreign countries acting in ways to affect our elections. The Clintons sent campaign staff to Israel to affect their elections, and Obama sent U.S. funds to support at least one opposition campaign in an Israeli election.

The hoax isn’t that the Russians interfered with our election. The hoax is that it amounted to a hill of beans, was abnormal, and was coordinated or facilitated by the Trump Campaign.

That's not the "bias" that Horowitz is claiming he can't find evidence of. He is not claiming that he can't find bias the noun he can't find "bias" the verb. Republicans need to clean up what is meant by "bias." The noun and the verb DO NOT mean the same thing.

Actually, it’s even more narrow than that.

“There was no evidence that political bias influenced the investigation.”

Of course there’s no evidence, because you can’t prove a person’s state of mind. This is just like Comey saying Hillary Clinton mishandled data, but they couldn’t prove intent.

Duh! Of course not - how can you possibly prove intent, short of a confession?

What a BS defense.

Oh well, I think this hearing is serving a good purpose - it’s putting the Democrats on the defensive for the first time - and they have a very weak defense.
