Acting Deputy Homeland Security Secretary Ken Cuccinelli fired back at former Maryland Gov. Martin OMalley on Thursday after the Democrat forced Cuccinelli to leave an event Thanksgiving eve, with Cuccinelli claiming O'Malley's "sad" and "shocking" outburst was so vitriolic his neck veins were "bulging."
Cuccinelli, in a lengthy statement to Fox News, recalled Wednesday nights incident, which took place at the Dublineran Irish pub on Capitol Hill where he and OMalley were attending an event with fellow graduates of Gonzaga College High School before OMalleys shame-invoking tirade forced Cuccinelli to leave.
CUCCINELLI FORCED TO LEAVE BAR AFTER BEING ASSAILED BY MARTIN O'MALLEY
I arrived at The Dubliner to meet with some of my Gonzaga classmates last night, Cuccinelli said in the statement. As I walked up to one of the bars among several in The Dubliner to order my Guinness, I heard screaming and cussing behind me to my left, which I did not immediately take notice of other than the fact that it was louder than everything else in the pub.
Cuccinelli continued: When I turned to look I saw O'Malley and he was obviously screaming at me. For a moment I thought he was trying to be funny, as we've met before, which I thought was strange. It was immediately clear that he was cursing and screaming for real, to the point of veins bulging on his neck.
Cuccinelli added that OMalley had also inspired one or two of his (apparent) buddies to join in the cussing assault, which the Trump official said he attempted to ignore. Cuccinelli said he proceeded to attempt to order at a different bar within The Dubliner, but that OMalley followed him.

“Ken did a good job in keeping his cool and walking away from what would have been a volatile situation.”
You’re right. And Cuccinelli is too valuable to lose over some brawl brought on by a drunk Dim with the inevitable conjured up media flap demanding Cuccinelli’s ouster.
There’s little glory in slapping around a drunk mick. There’s just too many of them.
I knew O’Malley had gone to Gonzaga but didn’t know that Cuccinelli had. I went there myself, but since graduating in ‘67, I think I’ve gone to exactly one of the events held for alumni. There traditionally this “night before Thanksgiving” event for them, though, so that’s what this would have been. O’Malley is a dipshit.
He definitely has a backpfeifengesicht.
Maryland "Freak State" PING!
Cuccinelli was outnumbered he was wise to walk away.
Run to Fox News? How about pulling rank? You are the head of freaking homeland security, our own gestapo.
When faced with ambush we generally storm right through it. Screw optics and a-holes. Backing down and away shows weakness and that’s what the left thrives on. They are bullies until they are punched right back and whimper.
Thanks for a laugh.
only problem is the Mick starts it and the Republican wop gets blamed for it. Any half respectable Italian should have flashed a knife at Ophir fat Irish ass!
Seriously, there are a ton of federal police in DHS, so there is no reason in the world that cabinet officers and other senior administration officials should not have bodyguards assigned to them, for short details when they appear in public.
A law could quickly be passed to make “public shout-outs” a misdemeanor subject to “detention or arrest” after a single verbal warning.
Ideally, the loud mouth would be taken to a quieter area, then handcuffed to something, with the key being given to the bartender, for example.
I have met O’Malley. I am 5’’11 and he is slightly taller than I am. He is nowhere near 6’5”. He is fit though.j
O’Malley is only another foreign minded Democrat supporting the drug cartels and other criminal elements—typical anti-American trash.
In other words, the more slack we give them, the sooner they’ll get even more vain and reckless. Many of them are already acting like zombies.
Can’t argue with a drunk.
Ken did what I thought was the best thing he could have done. O’Malley was drunk, so instead of engaging him, Ken left. If he attacked O’Malley, the MSM would say, Ken hit innocent drunk man...
He certainly DID do the right thing.
If Cucinelli had tussled with him and his cronies, IT WOULD STILL BE IN THE HEADLINES TODAY.
DISCRETION IS THE BETTER PART OF VALOR.
Get into an argument with him? Get into a fight with him? Start brawling on the barroom floor?
Cuccinelli did what he should have done and that's take the high road and ignore the drunk in the bar.
If he had got into a fracas with the loser O'Malley, the press would have had a hay day with crucifying Cuccinelli. What does that solve?
Too many FReepers on these type threads want revenge but all they'd get was the reverse.
Why fight when you don’t have to?
You don’t know what you are getting when you throw the first punch.
If a man takes a shot at yoir head, treat him like a murderer.
Otherwise, walk off.
