If the last 24 hours have proven anything about Chick-fil-A, it's this: It was never about the chicken. For millions of Americans, there was a much deeper significance behind every decision to pull in the parking lot and walk through those doors. It wasn't about the menu. It wasn't even about the service. It was that every time someone ate there, they were making a cultural statement. Chick-fil-A was a business, yes. But it was also a giant rebuttal of everything the bullies stood for. Until it wasn't.

Welcome to FR.
I hate it, but I’m done with Chick-fil-A.
Traitors.
A fast food chain compromising its proclaimed Christian values seems a small matter, but small matters add up. Remember the old adage, For want of a nail, the horseshoe was lost; for want of the horseshoe the horse was lost; for want of a horse, the general was lost; for want of the general the battle was lost.
J.C. Penney fires CEO after plummeting sales following gay ad campaign
April 11, 2013 (Family Research Council) - Plenty of companies have argued that natural marriage is "bad for business"--but they'll have a tough time persuading J.C. Penney. After a series of radical decisions, the retailer is struggling to survive a 25 percent drop in sales.
Or is he saying it doesn't matter?
Ping! A well-stated article. Wish i could express myself half as well. And it’s nice to see Huckabee out in front of this.
“Pushing that under the rug may feel better in the short-term, but it’s not an option for anyone who understands the long-term implications of waving a white flag on God’s truth. For us, this isn’t a gray area. The decision to desert these groups is a radical departure from biblical teaching. Now, some of you might argue that walking away from the Salvation Army or Fellowship of Christian Athletes isn’t an endorsement of an LGBT agenda. But it is exactly that. And here’s why. Chick-fil-A didn’t just switch their giving practices, they broadcasted it. They made a conscious choice to draw attention to this very public divorce from two Bible-believing charities. And then, in a calculated move, announced their support was going to an organization that, on its website, openly and proudly supports everything about the LGBT community.
“Their defense is that they haven’t changed anything,” Governor Mike Huckabee told listeners on Tuesday’s “Washington Watch,” but, “I’m just going to be blunt,” he said. “That’s not honest. Because when you turn from Salvation Army and you go to organizations like Covenant House, you’ve made a big statement about who you want your friends to be, who you are willing to affiliate with, and what your priorities are.” This isn’t about loving and serving the people who identify as LGBT, which the Salvation Army has done — and we’re all called to do. This is about affirming the LGBT identity and the politics that go with it. Those are two very different things. As Christians, we’re called to love — not affirm. God didn’t celebrate our sin, He loved us enough to save us from it. And that’s the difference here.”
They should also broadcast that their restrooms are now all inclusive.
Over indulgence of stuff is a plague. I work at THE MAJOR STUFFER on the planet. An endless supply of stuff.
Stuff in our houses. Stuff in our faces. Stuff in our brains. I’m destuffing in all areas. For my remaining years I want to travel much, much lighter. Good for me. Good for sanity. Good for the soul. Good for the planet.
In the old days, The National Anthem was broadcast and televised LIVE before all
major sporting events.
Two or 3 minutes is too much time for the sellers of advertisement to honor the
country and all those who sacrificed thereby allowing them the opportunity
to make endless millions?
I never once ate at CFA to make a political statement to myself.
“Local CFA operators have nothing to do with any decision made by CFA headquarters.”
They benefited from conservative Christians going there because of the management’s decisions. And they’ll have setbacks for the same reason. It really wasselfish of CFA to leave their likely Christian franchise owners out to dry.
And I went there only because of their former values. Food is expensive and not that great.
“How long before they cave and stop printing bible versus on their cups”
They might as well open on Sundays. The LGTABC’s need somewhere to eat.
New Coke: “I was the biggest blunder a food company could make.”
CFA: “Hold muh Co-Cola ‘n watch this..”
“Your philosophy has its weakness too, namely that we keep settling for incremental leftism. Thats what we got when we were NOT purists.”
Well stated, Bishop.
I am confused.
I was in a CFA today and they had a Salvation Army donation basket inside the front door.
So the cutoff is not total (yet).
“And Target didnt even have to back down.”
Hunh. I still haven’t shopped there since they bounced the bell ringers. Eff Target.
What's been in the news is CFA Corporate's decision to exclude the Salvation Army from their donations.
I bet that your local CFA is a franchise owner who understands why some of his customers were choosing CFA and he's hoping to keep them.
“Sounds like Samuels worthless sons, Hofni & Phineas.”
100% correct. Nothing new under the sun. A new fast food chain with respect toward families will be invented and attract customers far and wide.
President Trump has added $11 trillion dollars to the American economy and business owners should be more respectful of reality: pro-life, pro-families, and free markets.
It appears that there is MUCH more to this SA / CFA thing than has been posted here so far:

I should be so lucky!
It's a LOOoooong way from Indy to CAli!!!
