Kanye West joined Pastor Joel Osteen on stage at his Lakewood Church on Sunday and said he plans to recruit the best talent in the music industry and release new Christian music every month.

“This music is going to come every month. We dropping that heat. We’re in the studio. God is strengthening our hands,” Kanye West said to the over 17,000 in attendance and the millions watching on livestream.

“The devil stole all the good producers, the devil stole all the good musicians, all the good artists, all the good designers, all the good businesspeople, and said you’ve got to come work for me,” West said.

“We have writers. We have producers. We’re taking all the most fire producers and bring them back to God,” the Grammy-winner said to the roar of applause. “All the best voices, all the best dancers, all the worship for us to see that it’s through Christ — following the Bible can free us all.”

“When we bring up the name of Jesus, we’re told to be quiet. Every time I stand up, I feel that I’m standing up and drawing a line in the sand and saying, ‘I’m here in service to God,'” West continued.

West explained how he came to make Jesus Is King, his ninth consecutive number one album and his first Gospel album.

What does Kanye's turn to faith get him if he isn't sincere? He was already one of the most famous and powerful producers and rappers in the industry and now he's being mocked and derided by other musicians and by the MSM.

If he wanted to mock the Christian faith he could do so quite openly to cheers from the MSM and the industry. If he wanted to make more money he could have just kept doing what he was doing - he produced major hits in just the last year. I believe he's quite sincere in his new-found religious beliefs and I applaud his determination to do what he thinks is right despite the criticism he's getting from all sides.

I’ll field that one. Why should a person follow Christ? I suppose one could make a list of reasons. But “to get rich” should not be on that list.

Because if you are following Christ to get rich, you are actually not following Christ at all. Instead you are simply following a program you think will make you money.

It could be that Osteen is the only “big name” preacher that is willing to fully embrace West at this time, with the other big time names maybe keeping him at an arms distance. I’ve seen this in ministry before, with on-fire people who have some different way of spreading the Gospel getting the cold shoulder from “respectable” established ministries, so they go where they are welcome. Sometimes later they regret it, but they feel they went where God was leading them at the time.

I’ll say this, when I first became a believer I went to a Lakewood type church in that they fed us pablum. At the time, I could only stomach pablum; I was not a strong enough Christian for ‘meat’. I am now; I read the Bible daily and know the Word well but there is a need for weaker churches but it is incumbent on us to delve deeper into the truth to know who God is.

I’ll go with neither. I consider him more of a Dennis Rodman. Gonna do what he feels and isn’t concerned how people feel about that. I believe he is doing something he feels positive about today but he can be wishy-washy. A month from now plans may change.

Most Christians talk big and do nothing. He’s doing something which puts him in a different class right off the bat. And he’s doing it in a prison...

He can make a bigger impact on humanity this way than he ever could before. He’s doing what Christians have preached and prayed for for eons.
