Kanye West joined Pastor Joel Osteen on stage at his Lakewood Church on Sunday and said he plans to recruit the best talent in the music industry and release new Christian music every month.
“This music is going to come every month. We dropping that heat. We’re in the studio. God is strengthening our hands,” Kanye West said to the over 17,000 in attendance and the millions watching on livestream.
“The devil stole all the good producers, the devil stole all the good musicians, all the good artists, all the good designers, all the good businesspeople, and said you’ve got to come work for me,” West said.
“We have writers. We have producers. We’re taking all the most fire producers and bring them back to God,” the Grammy-winner said to the roar of applause. “All the best voices, all the best dancers, all the worship for us to see that it’s through Christ — following the Bible can free us all.”
“When we bring up the name of Jesus, we’re told to be quiet. Every time I stand up, I feel that I’m standing up and drawing a line in the sand and saying, ‘I’m here in service to God,'” West continued.
West explained how he came to make Jesus Is King, his ninth consecutive number one album and his first Gospel album.

This is a positive step. So good for Kanye West. But I just wish he didn’t team up with Joel Osteen. Osteen Is a bit too close to the slick “prosperity preacher” mold for my taste.
I like the religion part. Joel Osteen, not so much. He strikes me as a guy who’s in it to get rich.
I don’t think Kayne has been around Christianity long enough to spot these types of preachers quickly.
Seems like he’s trying to do the right thing, but this is a clumsy move.
Give him time. He may be a flash in the pan. I hope not.
I generally like his new direction.

Does this guy offer a large audience to reach for good reasons?
Is there a GOOD reason for Kanye to hook up with this guy?
If the only logical reason is money then that’s not so good.
But Kanye is worth 1/4 of a BILLION dollars and would have made a lot if he just kept doing what he was doing before.

He needs to understand that the devil did not ‘steal’ anybody....but ALL have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God....
Its about JESUS.....and then its about Jesus and then it is about JESUS.....
..hope this man takes humble time to grow in faith....or the kingdom of hell will sift him as wheat.

That was my thought too. West probably appeared with Osteen because he (Osteen) is well-known. If West is sincere in his faith, he’ll soon be able to sort the good preachers out from the bad.

Do you know ANYTHING about Joel Osteen, his background, and how he got where he is now? Have you EVER actually watched one of his worship services?
Boy a lot of the religious FReepers here are a lot like the Leftists - it’s BAD to be rich and successful (unless you’re one of them).
Yet God talks all about being PROSPEROUS and having GOOD SUCCESS (Joshua 1:8; 3 John 2).
