The silly sanctification of Marie Yovanovitch
Amerucan Thinker ^ | November 16, 2019 | Patricia McCarthy

Posted on 11/16/2019 6:00:35 AM PST by EXCH54FE

Until a month or so ago, virtually no one outside of the seven circles of hell that is the State Department had heard of Marie Yovanovitch. Even the intrepid John Solomon had not heard of her until March of this year. He had interviewed Ukrainian Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko who told him that Yovanovitch gave him a "do not prosecute" list the first time he met with her. He was angered by her list which he justifiably saw it as interference in Ukraine's government. He felt she was meddling in their anti-corruption investigations by telling him who should not be investigated. We now know that Hunter Biden and Burisma were on that list. The State Department denies this, of course, but given the other information John Solomon has unearthed, it rings true. Lutsenko had been promised $4 million to be given by the U.S. embassy to his office to go toward anti-corruption efforts but the money was never delivered. At the same time, former Rep. Pete Sessions had written to the House Rules Committee claiming he had proof of Yovanovitch's "disdain for the Trump administration." So whatever and whoever Ms. Yovanovitch is, she is not what she pretends to be. Larry C. Johnson calls her type of foreign service officer, as a group, a "pomposity." They believe without a shred of doubt that they are smarter than those outside their elevated realm. Isn't that exactly how William Taylor and George Kent came across as well? All three of them certainly believe they are superior in every way to President Trump, and that it is they who should be conducting foreign policy, not the president who was elected by the American people.

The only thing that these four “witnesses” have proven is, the utter uselessness and incompetence that has inhabited the US Dept of State for the better part of 3 or more decades. An agency that, at one time(perhaps), was full of folks that actually loved this country and wanted it to succeed, lead and help the world. Sad that it’s become one filled with radical, liberal, progressive, socialist snowflakes that love giving away US taxpayer money, with no accountability, just so they can travel the world on the taxpayer dime.

Having worked around these folks, it would make you sick to know what kind of perks they receive, funded by you and me. Things we’ve never had any say over nor would approve of, if given the chance to vote on it.

Either there was a “do not prosecute” list, or there wasn’t. The ex-ambassador flatly denied it yesterday.

Did John Solomon specify whether this “list” was in writing or oral? Would be great for the prosecutor to produce it, though he probably would rather not be in the middle of this mess. The State Department would have a copy — why doesn’t Pompeo retrieve it?

Oral or in writing... good question. I’d bet on oral.

My wife watched most of the boring testimony, and I walked by the TV from time to time. I happened to be there when the specific question was asked about the list.

After being removed from Ukraine Yovanovich was given a cushy job at Georgetown U. On her U.S. government salary she now teaches one class to fourteen students. Talk about bilking the taxpayer!

All I know is that Zelensky said she was a Poroshenko loyalist....so I imagine Guiliani has a lot of info. He’s old school....everything in writing. Bolton is the same way.

Isn't it something that we can't even get to the bottom of even something this precise?

I’d love to see a cartoonist publish a depiction of Shifty in front of a ‘wheel of fortune’ wheel that has the crimes of the day on each section as he prepares to select the ‘offence’ for each particular hearing. Collusion - Quid Pro Quo - Intimidation - Hurt My Feelings - Bribery, etc.

It sure is. But it might have been a series of oral communications, not a single blast. Like, "Oh, don't prosecute Hunter, and this other guy." And then, a few weeks later, "Remember our conversation? We'd appreciate it if you didn't hassle this other fella, either."

If done in a slippery fashion, it rapidly becomes he said/she said, and far less precise.

She is your typical arrogant, self-important east coast urban twit who (to paraphrase the comedian George Wallace) “needs to have her a** kicked”. The pathetic thing is that she has sucked on the taxpayer teat for decades as she bumbled through the worthless bureaucracy in the festering anti-American state department. I suggest she do the only honorable thing left to her dishonorable self...and do it tonight. Epstein gave her a clue.

If there IS a “do not prosecute” list than it should be somewhere.

Who has it?

That's my point. It seems everything these swamp folks do or say is cloaked in "cloak and dagger."

The Dims have more cards to play, but the President holds the trump cards.

Marie Yovanovitch :”I had no agenda other than to pursue our stated foreign policy goals.”
Interagency consensus does not agree with President Trump

Dear Ambassador, you served in difficult places like Mogadishu, had a distinguished career and have been described as tough, smart and highly professional.

In those decades of service how many times did you cry in order to achieve your goals?
