I hope not just on Veteran’s Day, but every day, that our brave men and women who serve at home and abroad feel the appreciation and support of a grateful nation, and take pride in knowing they have a Commander in Chief who salutes them.

If it sounds as if I am a bit still a bit bitter it is because to some extent I still am. The national shame that followed during and after the Vietnam War was jolted a bit after 911 and a good number of the public responded.

Unfortunately, the government learned nothing and politicians kept sending brave Americans to die and be maimed in foreign adventures which had no goal for victory.

I am still hopeful that President Trump will unshackle the nation from the greedy grip the neo-cons have had on policy for a long time. However in that regard the "Resist" movement within the GOP is still quite strong.
