Michael Bloomberg again eyeing 2020 presidential bid: sources
NY Post ^ | November 7, 2019

Disappointed with the leading Democratic candidates in the 2020 pack, Mike Bloomberg is once again considering a run for president, sources tell The Post.

“He thinks Biden is weak and [Bernie] Sanders and Warren can’t win,” said a source familiar with Bloomberg’s apparent about-face, which comes just months after the three-term New York City mayor took his name out of consideration.

“Mike will be making a decision quickly,” said another source close to the media mogul as other sources said the decision to jump into the crowded Democratic field could come within the next few days.

Bloomberg believes the dynamics of the race have changed on the Democratic Party side, with moderate frontrunner Joe Biden stumbling and anti-corporate candidate Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) gaining steam.

“Trump will get re-elected if Elizabeth Warren is the nominee. That’s not something any Democrat would want,” a Bloomberg insider said. “[Therefore] Mike was encouraged to take another look and reassess the race.”

Yep. Mayor Nanny state. I lived in NYC when this idiot was Mayor. I like to tell my friends it was like living in North Korea but with food but only the food the Dear Leader approved. Every Monday the Dear Leader would issue his edicts on what was banned and every parade and special events, sports championships the Dear Leader had to be front and center in the front car, float. I realized he was insane when he put forth all these bans claiming it was good for people, then he pushed relentlessly a bicycle program which ended up getting a bunch of people killed - to this day. “Sugary drinks are bad. Riding bicycles around speeding taxis and trucks is healthy” Alan Dershowitz sister was killed by that. She was riding a truck and UPS truck ran her over. How healthy!

How many socialists will care enough to vote for the anti-gun billionaire over the pro-gun billionaire? Bloomie is 77 years old. I’m not as worried about his chances as he probably wants decent Americans to be.

Bloomberg would probably do a better than the other clowns in the general election ...

I disagree entirely. A totalitarian Jewish dwarf from New York City would be lucky to get 35% of the vote in almost any state between the Delaware River and the Sierra Nevada Mountains.

If Bloomberg was the Democratic nominee, you'd honestly see Trump start polling ahead of him in states like Minnesota, Nevada, New Mexico, Colorado, and maybe even Illinois.

Check out his track record as NYC mayor. He's the answer to problems that most Americans don't have, and can never even imagine facing in their lives.

GREAT pic!

Bloomberg's bio said that he's run as a Democrat, Republican and Independent. Is that good presidential material? I don't trust him.

The other dem candidates are not really candidates — they’re talking points, they’re journalist saying they are the story when the cameras are pointing on them and there is no story. So Bloombergerererer thinks he’s got a chance — after all, he was in the Civil War and WWI & WWII. He knows the character of Americans compared to these kids, these sniveling brats who didn’t get what they wanted for X mass and who now are now going to change the face of America. Bloom saved his money since the Civil War and now he’s a billionaire based on saving. Who else can say that? He’s old fashion, a tits up Dem, and the best they come since the party was started by him. You never have to wonder where your toothpaste has gone with him. Yup!

All I these snarky @ssholes who think they could be POTUS are totally delusional. They have no idea how difficult it is to run a successful presidential campaign.

Trump made winning look easy, but he was/is a one-in-a-million fantastic candidate.

Bloomberg thinking anout joining the Rat race is proof that every Rat in the clown car is an incompetent, phony, pandering LOSER.

He doedn’t need the debates. He can get on the ballot in every primary and he has money to make Pres. Trump look like a suburban bank branch manager. He will flood TV and the web with ads and unlike any Dem candidate he has real political accomplishments to tout. And while he is a gun grabbing nanny stater and social prog, he is a capitalist and an anti crime broken windows guy who believes business provides the best model for govt. His only pronlem would be getting enough regular dems out to vote to beat the socialist base. He could win the whole thing.

All the other billionaires want to be president because they love themselves.

President Trump went this route because he loves The United States Of America.

[All the other billionaires are kicking themselves for not taking the plunge like Trump did. They all imagine they can follow the same path, but they’re delusional. ]

Bloomberg is not like the other billionaires. He has won 3 NYC mayoral elections in the most expensive media market in the world, running as a Republican in a city that is so lopsidedly Democratic, it voted 80-20 for Hillary. In so doing, he also spent $250m.

https://www.reuters.com/article/us-bloomberg-election/bloomberg-spent-over-100-million-for-reelection-report-idUSTRE5AR08320091128

Bloomberg could spend $500m on the primary, and maybe $5b (or even $10b) on a presidential campaign. I have zero doubt he could simply pledge his ownership stake in Bloomberg LP as collateral. Would it really be such a big deal if he left his daughter $40b instead of $50b?
