PITTSBURGH - Good things come to those who wait, and for folks who have been craving a Clark Bar, the chocolate covered peanut butter crunch bars first developed in Pittsburgh will be available in November.
The maker of Mallo Cups is very close to rolling out Clark Bars at its plant in Altoona, the first to be produced in western Pennsylvania in decades.
Anthony Forgione, CEO of Boyer Candy Co., said via email on Friday that Clark Bars will be available in its outlets and online within the next three weeks and will be released nationally by Thanksgiving.
they had the history of candy bar manufacturers on awhile back- very interesting series- back then there was no truth in advertising, and companies were making wild claims- it was a very dog eat dog busienss back then- prob still is-
That was amusing. I know I saw Clark bar commercials when I was a kid, but that one didn’t look familiar.
BTW, am I the only one who thinks Clark bars are better than Butterfingers? They’re a bit similar...
Yeah, Clark was an old friend of mine.
Time to drain the pool...
If you’re stating that in literal terms, you’re right. We’re behind schedule.
“Time to drain the pool...”
Wasn’t that a Baby Ruth? Another good candy bar...ever wonder what the difference is between a Baby Ruth and an O Henry? I didn’t until recently....
I thought it was a reference from a movie, Caddyshack, I think, where some kid dropped a Baby Ruth in the pool and everyone in the pool thought it was a turd.
Getting confused on movie scenes mixed up. It was a Baby Ruth.
“It was a Baby Ruth.”
Are you sure? Bill Murray had a $hit eating grin.
Oh, yeah, Carl Spackler scooped it out with a net and ate it. LOL
Wait a second - isn’t a Clark Bar commercial supposed to have a camel? One with a deep voice? One that says “I want a Clark Bar” ? ?
I remember one Halloween as a child, all we were getting were Clark bars and Zagnuts. One of my neighbors used to hand out pennies. Worst Halloween ever.
My kids come back with full sized Milky Ways, Kit Kats, Charlston Chews, Carmellos and even a few O’Henrys.
Someone needs to come out with a Trump candy bar. There used to be a Reggie candy bar (named after Reggie Jackson).
Clark bars had a finer texture and better taste then Butterfingers do. We will see if they can bring back the same bar. Some things might come down to subtle elements the new makers are unaware of, or the recipe could change because of costs.
Factory where Clark Bars were made closes as company is sold again
Hadn't heard about NECCO.
Agreed. Along the lines of a Butterfinger.......but BETTER!
Anybody remember the Butter Nut candy bar?
