WASHINGTON (AP) Defying White House orders, an Army officer serving with President Donald Trumps National Security Council testified to impeachment investigators Tuesday that he twice raised concerns over the administrations push to have Ukraine investigate Democrats and Joe Biden.
Alexander Vindman, a lieutenant colonel who served in Iraq and later as a diplomat, is the first official to testify who actually heard Trumps July 25 call with new Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy. He reported his concerns to the NSCs lead counsel, he said in his prepared remarks.
His arrival in military blue, with medals , created a striking image at the Capitol as the impeachment inquiry reached deeper into the White House.
I was concerned by the call, Vindman said, according to his testimony obtained by The Associated Press. I did not think it was proper to demand that a foreign government investigate a U.S. citizen, and I was worried about the implications for the U.S. governments support of Ukraine.
Vindman, a 20-year military officer, added to the mounting evidence from other witnesses -- diplomats, defense and former administration officials -- who are corroborating the initial whistleblowers complaint against Trump and providing new details ahead of a House vote in the impeachment inquiry.

It was a show.
Thats all it was.
Complete with costume and a chorus.
USAF E-7, retired. 👍 But my son is a USAF Officer. 👍
I view people like him, regardless of his military service, as a Domestic Enemy of The United States.
Benedict Arnold served his country until he betrayed it. What this person is doing is no different.
At this point liberal propaganda is just white noise, easily ignored.
Ratcheting up to a dull roar in 2020 may well prove comedic relief.
First we had CONCERN TROLLS, now we have CONCERN WITNESSES.
My only question is... WTF.
Oh my he is concerned, let’s impeach the President over his concern. What a jerkwad.
So, the essence of his testimony is that he had concerns about the conversation? Just another a$$hole trying to run his own agenda.
Trump never demanded anything! This guy should be prosecuted for lying!
I agree. When this is over he needs to be dishonorably discharged.
Hopefully, this dudes career is over.

I strongly suspect it was already approaching being over.
Vindman’s opening statement was released yesterday. It’s dated today.
a lot of blah,blah,blah until page 4.
his blah, blah, blah about the 07/25 call starts on page 5
Ok, sir, where is your memorandum for the record?
I think his point is that Trump was talking about Biden in the call and that was his concern. The transcript confirms Biden was talked about. I do not think it is a crime or a high crimes. But, hey what do I know.
What the hell business to ALL these people have listening to our President’s phone calls !??? He has a right to his privacy on phone calls as we all do.
CHANGE THIS ASAP
No listen-in’s
Where this guys concern when it was President Obama, FBI, CIA, NSC, and others when they investigated CANDIDATE Trump, a US citizen with the help of foreign governments and the Ukraine.
So hes concerned. So what?
I barfed reading this : His arrival in military blue, with medals , created a striking image . . .
Because image is sooooo important.
As a retired Army officer, I see this LTC as letting his position and self-importance go to his head. And possibly let his partisan political views take control of his actions.
Somebody should ask the good Colonel how he feels about the broken mil surplus garbage the kenyan sent to Ukraine as Russian rockets rained on their cities and the latest model Russian tanks rumbled through their countryside.
Where this guys concern when it was President Obama,
Where was this guy when the kenyan was busy ignoring the Russian invasion of Ukraine and bullying them to surrender at the Minsk agreements?
I guess my question is,
Was he there as a representative of the military or a representative of the State Department?
