Power and oppression, as defined by ethnic studies, are the ways in which individuals and groups define mathematical knowledge so as to see 'Western' mathematics as the only legitimate expression of mathematical identity and intelligence. This definition of legitimacy is then used to disenfranchise people and communities of color. This erases the historical contributions of people and communities of color.

This doesn't add up

Math is an exact science.

Racism is not.

Seems like liberals aren’t as big on science as they pretend.

So all of the math utilized to formulate the global warming models must be discarded? Ok I’m fine with that.

So the take-away here is that skills which employers find valuable (mathematical ability, analytical skill) should be deemphasized and not rewarded. Instead, we should reward OTHER skills such as: tearing down the oppressive patriarchy, proclaiming your victimhood and being confused about your gender. Because those “skills” really contribute to the bottom line. [/s]

As person who took five years of math at the university level, allow me to say that if you bailed out of math during or after high school....it is like clicking on the “preview”, but never going to see the “movie”.

I don’t think that was math.

I would categorize that as lies and BS, honestly.

Was thing pretty much the same thing.

Math is order and absolutes.

Two things the left aren’t particularly fond of...

Well, our civilization had a good run. With the brainwashing of children and destruction of education, we are so screwed.

Math is the language of Logic
If Logic is not your thing, Math will be “Hard”
Those who say certain classes of people can’t do math,
Are speaking volumes about those people’s ability to Reason

For postmodernist leftards, there is no objective truth, and reality is what one makes it. So if a minority judges that it is more useful, and that itself is better off if 2 + 2 = 5, then it is true and real.

Nope. Mathematics is a pure science and a very useful tool to help us understand the world around us.

White privilege, micro-aggression, any non-profit with the word "black" in it, minority-based college admission, etc, is ultimately connected to racial oppression.

The Left narrative absolutely cannot tolerate having people judged on their actual abilities or their documented behavior.
